Older Adults With Heel Ulcers in the Acute Care Setting: Frequency of Noninvasive Vascular Assessment, Surgical Intervention, and 1-Year Mortality
Conclusion: Older adults with a heel ulcer in the acute care setting are frequently not assessed for underlying ischemia of the lower extremities. The diagnosis carries high 1-year mortality rates. Evidence-based protocols need to be developed to determine which older adults should have a vascular assessment and then undergo an invasive procedure.

Vascular age and cardiovascular risk in patients suffering from stroke.
CONCLUSION: The vascular age of patients suffering from stroke at the University teaching hospital Sylvanus Olympio of Lome is 10 years higher than their real age. This condition considerably increases their risk of cardiovascular diseases. The screening and the early care about vascular risk factors appear therefore of utmost importance. Porcine Liver Vascular Bed in Biodur E20 Corrosion Casts.
CONCLUSIONS: For hepatectomies, the operating protocol was optimised to avoid gas or blood clot embolisation. Only Biodur E20® Plus appeared to be suitable for high-volume vascular corrosion casting due to its optimal permeability, sufficient processing time and minimum fragility. Biodur E20® Plus is slightly elastic, radio-opaque and alcohol-resistant. These properties make this acrylic resin suitable for not only vascular research but also teaching purposes. Googling in anatomy education: Can google trends inform educators of national online search patterns of anatomical syllabi?
The role of e‐learning platforms in anatomy education continues to expand as self‐directed learning is promoted in higher education. Although a wide range of e‐learning resources are available, determining student use of non‐academic internet resources requires novel approaches. One such approach that may be useful is the Google Trends© web application. To determine the feasibility of Google Trends to gain insights into anatomy‐related online searches, Google Trends data from the United States from January 2010 to December 2015 were analyzed. Data collected were based on the recurrence of keywords related to hea...

Declining Resident Experience in Open Vascular Operations Threatens the Status of Vascular Surgery as an Essential Content Area of General Surgery Training
Conclusions: Operative experience in OAVPs for GSRs has significantly declined. Because fundamental VS skills are necessary for operative general surgery, VS should remain an essential content area. However, programs cannot solely depend on operative experience to teach fundamental VS skills.

A comparison of patient, intervention, comparison, outcome (PICO) to a new, alternative clinical question framework for search skills, search results, and self-efficacy: a randomized controlled trial.
Conclusion: When taught in an information literacy session, the new, alternative framework is as effective as PICO when assessing OT and PT students' searching skills. Librarian-led workshops using either question formulation framework led to an increase in information literacy self-efficacy post-instruction. PMID: 32256230 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
