Early Hospital Readmission (EHR) in kidney transplantation: a review article.
Authors: Tavares MG, Tedesco-Silva Junior H, Pestana JOM Abstract Early hospital readmission (EHR), defined as all readmissions within 30 days of initial hospital discharge, is a health care quality measure. It is influenced by the demographic characteristics of the population at risk, the multidisciplinary approach for hospital discharge, the access, coverage, and comprehensiveness of the health care system, and reimbursement policies. EHR is associated with higher morbidity, mortality, and increased health care costs. Monitoring EHR enables the identification of hospital and outpatient healthcare weaknesses and t...

Intrahepatic manifestation and distant extrahepatic disease in alveolar echinococcosis: a multicenter cohort study.
CONCLUSION: Vascular/biliary involvement and presence of distant extrahepatic manifestations depend on size of the HAE lesions and are more frequently detected in China. Different MRI morphological patterns influence vascular/biliary involvement and the occurrence of distant extrahepatic manifestations. PMID: 32847367 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Donor-derived TB after kidney transplantation: a case report
CONCLUSION: TB is an important differential diagnosis for infectious complications in patients after solid-organ transplantation, especially in endemic regions. Its initial clinical presentation can be unspecific and it should be suspected in the presence of fever or formation of fluid collections. The suspicion of TB is the key to early diagnosis and satisfactory outcomes in post-transplant TB.PMID:33836038 | DOI:10.1590/2175-8239-JBN-2020-0117

Community views on mass drug administration for filariasis: a qualitative evidence synthesis
CONCLUSIONS: Adherence with MDA for filariasis is influenced by individual direct experience of benefit and harm; social influences in the community; political influences and their relationship to government; and historical influences. Fear of adverse effects was frequently described and this appears to be particularly important for communities. When views were negative, we were surprised by the strength of feeling expressed. Enthusiasm for these schemes as a strategy in global policy needs debate in the light of these findings.PMID:35174482 | PMC:PMC8851040 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD013638.pub2
