Immunohistochemical expression of NRF2 is correlated with the magnitude of inflammation and fibrosis in chronic liver disease
ConclusionsNuclear translocation of NRF2 was correlated with the magnitude of liver inflammation and fibrosis in chronic liver disease. These results suggest that NRF2 plays a protective role in the development of chronic liver diseases such as NASH and CHc.

Unique Presentations of Burkholderia gladioli Infections in Several Strains of Immunocompromised Mice
Comp Med. 2023 Sep 20. doi: 10.30802/AALAS-CM-23-000016. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFour strains of experimentally naïve mice (NOD.Cg-Prkdcscid Il2rgtm1Wjl/SzJ [NSG], NOD.Cg-Rag1tm1Mom Il2rgtm1Wjl/SzJ[NRG], B6.129S(Cg)-Stat1tm1Dlv/J [STAT1-/-], and B6.129S7-Ifngr1tm1Agt/J [IFNγR-/-] housed in a barrier facility developedunusual and seemingly unrelated clinical signs. Young NSG/NRG mice (n = 49, mean age = 4 ± 0.4 mo) exhibited nonspecificclinical signs of moderate-to-severe lethargy, hunched posture, decreased body condition, and pallor. In contrast to the NSG/NRGmice, the STAT1-/- and IFNγR-/-mice (n = 5) developed...

G. lucidum triterpenes restores intestinal flora balance in non-hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma: evidence of 16S rRNA sequencing and network pharmacology analysis
Conclusion: Therefore, Ganosporelactone B, the active ingredient of G. lucidum triterpenes, improves the imbalance of intestinal flora and ultimately curtails development of NHBV-related HCC.

Diagnostic value of elevated serum angiotensin-converting enzyme and lymphopenia in patients with granulomatous hepatitis
CONCLUSIONS: Those results suggests that lymphopenia and sACE may be valuable biomarkers for sarcoidosis diagnosis in GH when combined, especially in younger patients.PMID:37712371 | DOI:10.36141/svdld.v40i3.14221

Analysis of the mechanism of action of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud on cirrhosis based on network pharmacology
This study aimed to employ network pharmacology to elucidate the mechanism by which Euphorbia fischeriana Steud (EFS) exhibits the efficacy on cirrhosis. The compounds and targets of EFS were retrieved from Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated Database and Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP). Next, these compounds and targets were analyzed based on protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. Furthermore, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) signaling network was established based on KEGG database. We constructed a compound-compound target-intersection target-...

Network pharmacology and molecular docking to explore the mechanism of Sheng Xue Bao mixture against iron deficiency anemia
Medicine (Baltimore). 2023 Sep 15;102(37):e35012. doi: 10.1097/MD.0000000000035012.ABSTRACTBased on network pharmacology and molecular docking, we investigated the mechanism of action of Sheng Xue Bao mixture (SXBM) in treating iron deficiency anemia (IDA). We screened the HERB and traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology database and analysis platform databases to identify the active ingredients and targets of SXBM. The targets associated with "iron deficiency anemia" were collected from GeneCards, TTD, and OMIM databases. A component-target interaction network was constructed using Cytoscape 3.8.2. The protein-p...

Arginine methylation of HSPA8 by PRMT9 inhibits ferroptosis to accelerate hepatitis B virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma progression
The hepatitis B virus X (HBx) protein is an established cause of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Whether arginine methylation regulates ferroptosis involved in HBx-induced HCC p...

Evaluation of the Curative Effect of Treating HBV-related Liver Fibrosis/Cirrhosis Based on the Method of Removing Turbidity and Regulating the Liver
CONCLUSION: Treatment based on removing turbidity and regulating the liver can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of patients with HBV-related liver fibrosis/cirrhosis, promote the liver function to return to normal, relieve the degree of liver fibrosis, and reduce the LSM value. The curative effect is significant and worthy of clinical application.PMID:37708539
