Inhaled anti-pseudomonal antibiotics for long-term therapy in cystic fibrosis
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term treatment with inhaled anti-pseudomonal antibiotics probably improves lung function and reduces exacerbation rates, but pooled estimates of the level of benefit were very limited. The best evidence available is for inhaled tobramycin. More evidence from trials measuring similar outcomes in the same way is needed to determine a better measure of benefit. Longer-term trials are needed to look at the effect of inhaled antibiotics on quality of life, survival and nutritional outcomes.PMID:36373968 | PMC:PMC9662285 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD001021.pub4

This had been going on for nearly one year, with the patient losing all of her independence as a result. She was unable to drive or be alone for fear of having another episode. Her quality of life had been demolished.

Association Between Tinnitus and Hypertension: A Cross-Sectional Analysis of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey
Conclusions Tinnitus is associated with hypertension in younger age groups of 20 to 39 years of age but not in age groups greater than 40 years. Diabetes is also associated with hypertension in individuals aged 20 to 69 years. This finding of tinnitus as a risk factor for hypertension in younger populations may inform better clinical practice and lead to earlier detection of hypertension in at-risk patients.
