Experiences and perceptions of nuclear medicine technologists in the assessment of myocardial perfusion image quality
Conclusion: Despite the shared responsibility in the assessment of myocardial perfusion image quality with nuclear medicine physicians, the nuclear medicine technologists considered themselves playing a major role. However, resources to facilitate the assessment of image quality are considered necessary and should be available to support the nuclear medicine technologists to submit images of optimum quality for interpretation.PMID:33820863 | DOI:10.2967/jnmt.120.255125

Topics of nuclear medicine research in Europe
AbstractLast year in the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, we introduced some recent nuclear medicine research conducted in Japan. This was favorably received by European readers in the main. This year we wish to focus on the Annals of Nuclear Medicine on some of the fine nuclear medicine research work executed in Europe recently. In the current review article, we take up five topics: prostate-specific membrane antigen imaging, recent advances in radionuclide therapy, [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography (PET) for dementia, quantitative PET assessment of myocardial perfusion, and i...

Renaissance of criticism on the concept of brain death—the role of legal medicine in the context of the interdisciplinary discussion
Conclusion Teaching and research in legal medicine should include the subject brain death. Expertise in forensic science may contribute to the interdisciplinary discussion on brain death. The transfer of actual knowledge, also on disputed ethical aspects of thanatology, to physicians of all disciplines is of great importance.

The Role of Nuclear Medicine Studies in Post-Lung Transplant Patients
Conclusion: Nuclear medicine’s unique imaging strategies focusing on physiology and function are essential to the identification and monitoring of complications and specific needs in the post-lung transplant population. Specifically, ventilation/perfusion scintigraphy, DXA and gastric emptying studies should be included in their routine management after transplantation giving their impact in the initial diagnosis and follow up of a wide variety of post-transplant related complications.
