Pharmaco-epigenomics: On the  Road of Translation Medicine.
Pharmaco-epigenomics: On the Road of Translation Medicine. Adv Exp Med Biol. 2019;1168:31-42 Authors: López-Camarillo C, Gallardo-Rincón D, Álvarez-Sánchez ME, Marchat LA Abstract Epigenomics refers to the study of genome-wide changes in epigenetic mechanisms including DNA methylation, histone modifications and non-coding RNAs expression. The alterations in normal DNA methylation and histone acetylation/deacetylation patterns lead to deregulated transcription and chromatin organization resulting in altered gene expression profiles that facilitates tumor development and progression. In consequence,...

Study on the Anticancer Effect of an Astragaloside- and Chlorogenic Acid-Containing Herbal Medicine (RLT-03) in Breast Cancer.
Conclusion: RLT-03 exhibited therapeutic effects against breast cancer by regulating the expression of ligands of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and inflammatory factors. Thus, RLT-03 represents a potential supplementary HM that can be used in breast cancer therapy. PMID: 32595723 [PubMed]

Integrative Medicine Use in Patients with Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma: A Cross-Sectional Survey Study
CONCLUSIONS: IM use is common among patients with CTCL, particularly those with worse itching and worse HRQoL. IM interventions require further study given use by CTCL patients to treat disease and ameliorate symptoms.PMID:34302983 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctim.2021.102762

The World Workshop on Oral Medicine Outcomes Initiative for the Direction of Research Project
The spectrum of conditions managed by Oral Medicine specialists is wide. It includes, among others, ulcerative and vesiculobullous diseases of the oral cavity, orofacial neuropathies, salivary gland disorders, oral complications from cancer therapy, and potentially malignant oral disorders, which may cause severe morbidity and mortality.1 Due to the chronicity of many of these conditions, most treatments' primary management strategies are typically symptomatic and not curative. The risk-benefit balance for all treatments should be considered before commencement and ideally be accompanied by a high-quality evidence base to ...

The Role of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Cancer Immunotherapy: Current Status and Future Directions
Am J Chin Med. 2023 Aug 28:1-25. doi: 10.1142/S0192415X2350074X. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe tumor microenvironment (TME) plays an important role in the development of tumors. Immunoregulatory cells and cytokines facilitate cancer cells to avoid immune surveillance. Overexpression of immune checkpoint molecules such as CTLA-4 and PD-1/PD-L1 inhibits immune function and enables cancer cells to avoid clearance by the immune system. Thus, minimizing tumor immunosuppression could be an important strategy for cancer therapy. Currently, many immune checkpoint-targeted drugs, such as PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors, have been approve...
