Surgical strategies for the treatment of deformity-associated cervical spondylotic stretch myelopathy: a case series with technically nuanced illustrative operative videos
CONCLUSIONS: Deformity-associated cervical spondylotic stretch myelopathy often leads to devastating neurological decline and can significantly decrease quality of life. Carefully selected cases of circumferentially rigid cervical kyphosis can be successfully corrected with anterior-only osteotomies followed by posterior fixation while avoiding back-front-back operations.PMID:37657104 | DOI:10.3171/2023.6.FOCUS23279

The Prognostic Potential of End-Stage Knee Osteoarthritis and Its Components to Predict Knee Replacement: Data From the Osteoarthritis Initiative
CONCLUSION: Radiographic severity may be a screening tool to find a knee that will likely receive a KR. However, esKOA may be an ideal outcome in clinical trials because a change in esKOA state predicts future KR.PMID:37657799 | DOI:10.3899/jrheum.2023-0017

Risk factors for radiographic progression of proximal junctional fracture in patients undergoing surgical treatment for adult spinal deformity
CONCLUSIONS: The risk factors for further progression of PJFx were overcorrection relative to the age-adjusted PI-LL target at index surgery, PJA > 21° at initial presentation, and fracture at the UIV level. Close monitoring is warranted for such patients in order to not miss timely revision surgery.PMID:37657113 | DOI:10.3171/2023.7.SPINE23103
