A Systematic Review of Potential Immunotherapies Targeting PRAME in Retinoid Resistant Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders and Oral Cancer
Conclusion: Our analysis of the literature suggests that PRAME screening in OC and OPMDs prior to RBT should be done. In PRAME positive cases, approaches like PRAME based immunotherapy in the form of Cancer vaccine therapy [Acellular PRAME vaccine, PRAME pulsed Dendritic Cells (DC)]; Adoptive T Cell therapy/T Cell Receptor-T Cell therapy, Antibody therapy/Chimeric Antigen Receptor-T Cell therapy along with Presented antigen modulation Therapies employing histone deacetylase inhibitors and demethylation agents seem plausible. In the future, a combination therapy employing either PRAME vaccines or antibodies or Adoptive T ce...

Immunotherapy (excluding checkpoint inhibitors) for stage I to III non-small cell lung cancer treated with surgery or radiotherapy with curative intent
CONCLUSIONS: Based on this updated review, the current literature does not provide evidence that suggests a survival benefit from adding immunotherapy (excluding checkpoint inhibitors) to conventional curative surgery or radiotherapy, for people with localised NSCLC (stages I to III). Several ongoing trials with immune checkpoints inhibitors (PD-1/PD-L1) might bring new insights into the role of immunotherapy for people with stages I to III NSCLC.PMID:34870327 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD011300.pub3

Concordance of Anyplex ™ II HPV HR assays with reference HPV assays in cervical cancer screening: systematic review
CONCLUSION: Five validation studies of Anyplex™ Ⅱ HPV HR performance in cervical cancer screening settings showed its consistently high absolute clinical sensitivity for both CIN2+ and CIN3+, still comparative clinical sensitivity and specificity relative to HC2 and GP5+/6 + PCR. Anyplex™ Ⅱ has evaluated HPV HR in several settings and population groups. It is considered clinically validated for primary cervical cancer screening and triage in referral population settings.PMID:34919974 | DOI:10.1016/j.jviromet.2021.114435

A systematic review and meta-analysis of immune response against first and second doses of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in adult patients with hematological malignancies
CONCLUSION: Our findings highlight the substantially low rate of seroprotection in patients with hematological malignancies with a wide range of rates among disease subgroups and different treatments; further highlighting the fact that booster doses might be acquired for these patients to improve immunity against SARS-CoV-2.PMID:35843148 | DOI:10.1016/j.intimp.2022.109046

New Onset and Exacerbations of Psoriasis Following COVID-19 Vaccines: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSIONS: Both new-onset psoriasis and psoriasis flares were reported as cutaneous adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination. Psoriatic patients may require regular follow-up before and after COVID-19 vaccination.TRIAL REGISTRATION: Review registration number PROSPERO database: CRD42022304157.PMID:36048409 | DOI:10.1007/s40257-022-00721-z

A novel telomerase-derived peptide GV1001-mediated inhibition of angiogenesis: Regulation of VEGF/VEGFR-2 signaling pathways
Transl Oncol. 2022 Sep 29;26:101546. doi: 10.1016/j.tranon.2022.101546. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGV1001, a human telomerase reverse transcriptase catalytic subunit-derived 16-mer peptide, has been developed as a novel anticancer vaccine against various cancers including pancreatic cancer. In the current study, we demonstrate the regulatory roles and mechanisms of GV1001 in endothelial cell responses in vitro and microvessel sprouting ex vivo. GV1001 markedly inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A)-stimulated endothelial cell permeability, proliferation, migration, invasion, tube formation as well as mic...

Influenza Vaccination and Risk of Ischemic Stroke: A Population-Based Case-Control Study
DISCUSSION: Results are compatible with a moderate protective effect of influenza vaccine on IS appearing early after vaccination. The finding that a reduced risk was also observed in pre-epidemic periods suggests that either the "protection" is not totally linked to prevention of influenza infection, or it may be partly explained by unmeasured confounding factors.PMID:36240087 | DOI:10.1212/WNL.0000000000201123

HPV urine test could screen for cervical cancer
Conclusion This systematic review and meta-analysis indicates that urine tests for detecting HPV DNA might be feasible for screening women for cervical cancer based on an evidence base of 14 diverse studies involving 1,443 women. While it is feasible this type of test might be useful for screening, there were many limitations in the evidence base reviewed. This means its effectiveness as a screening tool is still up for debate and is unproven. Issues include: the large variation between individual studies for participant characteristics the large variation in estimates of test sensitivity and specificity between ind...

75: hpv infection in women: knowledge, attitudes and behaviors and the implications for libyan healthcare
Conclusion: From the literature review it has been found that there is a wide range of reported levels of knowledge about HPV internationally. This project demonstrated significant gaps in knowledge among many women worldwide about genital and HPV infection which varies according to ethnicity, socio-economic and other demographic characteristics Australian women in the literature seemed to be well informed about genital infection and HPV and this can possibly be attributed to the broad educational campaign about HPV connected to their vaccination campaign. Moreover, Dermatologists need robust to acquire new skills in const...

BCG: A throwback from the stone age of vaccines opened the path for bladder cancer immunotherapy.
CONCLUSION: After 4 decades of use, BCG remains the most effective agent against high risk NMIBC, but it still holds substantial drawbacks. The enduring use of immunotherapy for NMIBC has created a propitious environment to search for better alternatives. There are an increasing number of promising in vitro, animal and early human clinical trials to anticipate a significant therapeutic alternative in the foreseeable future.
