Molecular pathology and clinical treatment of independent HPV primary serous carcinoma of the uterine cervix (USCC): A case report
1. Procedure for diagnosis HPV-independent adenocarcinomas of the uterine cervix. 2. Procedure for treating HPV-independent adenocarcinomas of the uterine cervix. AbstractOn October 23, 2020, a 69-year-old Chinese female patient was admitted to Yuncheng Hospital due to a history of postmenopausal bleeding and lower abdominal pain for 5 months. The HPV test and pathology results indicated the presence of independent HPV in primary serous carcinoma of the uterine cervix. The genetic testing identified variants of uncertain significance (PAX8 p.Tyr 410 Ter and TP53 p.Asn 247 Ile), microsatellite instability stable (MSI-S), tu...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4335: Impact of Patient Body Mass Index on Post-Operative Recovery from Robotic-Assisted Hysterectomy
Esther L. Moss A longitudinal, descriptive, prospective, and prolective study of individuals with endometrial or cervical cancer/pre-cancer diagnoses and high BMI (over 35 kg/m2) undergoing RH was conducted. Of the 53 participants recruited, 3 (6%) were converted to open surgery. The 50 RH participants had median BMI 42 kg/m2 (range 35 to 60): the range 35–39.9 kg/m2 had 17 cases; the range 40–44.9 kg/m2 had 15 cases; 45–49.9 kg/m2 8 cases; and those ≥50 kg/m2 comprised 10 cases. The mean RH operating time was 128.1 min (SD 25.3) and the median length of hospital ...

Surgical approach to hysterectomy for benign gynaecological disease
CONCLUSIONS: Among women undergoing hysterectomy for benign disease, VH appears to be superior to AH. When technically feasible, VH should be performed in preference to AH because it is associated with faster return to normal activities, fewer wound/abdominal wall infections and shorter hospital stay. Where VH is not possible, LH has advantages over AH including faster return to normal activities, shorter hospital stay, and decreased risk of wound/abdominal wall infection, febrile episodes or unspecified infection, and transfusion. These advantages must be balanced against the increased risk of ureteric injury and longer o...

Virtual reality for the treatment of postoperative pain after laparoscopic hysterectomy for benign Indications: A randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Although virtual reality use following hysterectomy did not improve pain scores or decrease narcotic usage, it was well received by patients.PMID:37611537 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.08.012
