The association between labour epidural analgesia and postpartum depression in primiparous patients: a historical cohort study
ConclusionThis historical cohort study found an association between LEA and PPD among primiparous patients who subsequently had a second pregnancy in the same province. The findings call into question the hypothesis that LEA decreases the risk for PPD and further illustrates the complexities of PPD.

Clinical Application of Inferior Alveolar Nerve Block Device for Safe and Secure IANB by Any Operator
Pain Res Manag. 2023 Sep 8;2023:1021918. doi: 10.1155/2023/1021918. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe inferior alveolar nerve block (IANB) is an established technique with a success rate of 60-80%; however, large errors have been reported among operators. Some dentists do not prefer to use IANB because of the risk of complications. Nevertheless, it is a useful technique for pain control, and a secure IANB offers significant benefits to operators and patients. This case series study aimed to investigate the efficacy of the "IANB Device," a nerve block guide for IANB, and the adverse events associated with its use in clinical pra...

Magnesium Sulfate in Pediatric Abdominal Cancer Surgery: Safety and Efficacy in Ultrasound-Guided Transversus Abdominis Plane (US-TAP) Block in Conjugation with Levobupivacaine
CONCLUSION: We conclude that adding magnesium sulphate as an adjuvant to local anaesthetic in US-TAP block for pain management in pediatric abdominal cancer surgeries resulted in better and longer analgesia, with less consumption of rescue analgesics with no serious side effects.PMID:37719936 | PMC:PMC10505031 | DOI:10.2147/LRA.S425649

TPVB and general anesthesia affects postoperative functional recovery in elderly patients with thoracoscopic pulmonary resections based on ERAS pathway
CONCLUSION: Based on the ERAS pathway, TPVB combined with general anesthesia in thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer in elderly patients can effectively reduce the patients' hemodynamic fluctuations, alleviate postoperative pain, accelerate the recovery process, and reduce complications.PMID:37719744 | PMC:PMC10500636 | DOI:10.1515/tnsci-2022-0305
