Severity of Psoriasis Associates With Aortic Vascular Inflammation Detected by FDG PET/CT and Neutrophil Activation in a Prospective Observational Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Psoriasis severity is associated with vascular inflammation beyond cardiovascular risk factors. Psoriasis increased neutrophil activation and neutrophil markers, and S100A8/A9 was related to both skin disease severity and vascular inflammation. PMID: 26449753 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Vascular Inflammation Evaluated by 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose-Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography Is Associated With Endothelial Dysfunction.
CONCLUSIONS: The present study showed that vascular inflammation in the carotid arteries evaluated by [(18)F]-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography was one of the independent correlates of decreased %FMD, thus suggesting the association of vascular inflammation with endothelial dysfunction in humans. Virtual reality and augmented reality applications and simulation in vascular access management with three-dimensional visualization.
Authors: Yokoyama I, Sarai T, Asai T, Kitou N, Nozaki H, Kondo Y, Nomura Y, Morizane A, Sekikawa M, Liu D Abstract Obtaining adequate and precise anatomical information is mandatory to prevent vascular access-related complications in dialysis patients. For this purpose, we underwent Doppler ultrasound, vascular access angiogram, and plain computer-assisted tomography scan of the arm with vascular access. With the use of computer graphics software, the anatomical structure of the vascular access can be visualized three dimensionally which is shared among the staffs for precise and better recognition. Furthermore, cr...

Recent Advances in Vascular Imaging.
Abstract Recent advances in vascular imaging have enabled us to uncover the underlying mechanisms of vascular diseases both ex vivo and in vivo. In the past decade, efforts have been made to establish various methodologies for evaluation of atherosclerotic plaque progression and vascular inflammatory changes in addition to biomarkers and clinical manifestations. Several recent publications in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology highlighted the essential roles of in vivo and ex vivo vascular imaging, including magnetic resonance image, computed tomography, positron emission tomography/scintigraphy, u...

Sono-angiography for dialysis vascular access based on the freehand 2D ultrasound scanning
CONCLUSION: We present a simple approach to obtain an angiogram-like representation of the vascular access from readily available, non-proprietary 2D ultrasound data in the point of care setting. While the sono-angiogram is not intended to replace angiography, it may be useful in providing 3D imaging at the point of care in the dialysis unit, outpatient clinic, or for pre-operative planning for interventional procedures. Future work will focus on improving the robustness and quality of the imaging data while preserving the straightforward freehand approach used for ultrasound data acquisition.PMID:33971754 | DOI:10.1177/11297298211015066

Toxic Metals and Subclinical Atherosclerosis in Carotid, Femoral, and Coronary Vascular Territories: The Aragon Workers Health Study
CONCLUSIONS: Our results support arsenic and cadmium and identify titanium and potentially antimony as atherosclerosis risk factors. Exposure reduction and mitigation interventions of these metals may decrease cardiovascular risk in individuals without clinical disease.PMID:34879710 | DOI:10.1161/ATVBAHA.121.316358
