Protective effects of acupuncture and LGNHFD on expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, and cluster of differentiation 34 in rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury
CONCLUSION: Acupuncture therapy is superior to simple drug and electroacupuncture therapy for reducing infarct volume, increasing rCBF and CD34 expression in cells, and promoting capillary regeneration in rats with cerebral ischemia. This may be related to the increased expression of VEGF, bFGF, and CD34 - which are related to cerebrovascular neovascularization - in the ischemic hemispheres of such rats.PMID:34114405 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.2021.03.015

Clinical Effect of Shibing Xingnao Granules on Vascular Dementia Patients and Its Effect on Serum Neuronal Apoptosis Molecules
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Feb 28;69(2):144-149. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.2.24.ABSTRACTIt was intended to study the clinical effect of Shibing Xingnao Granules on patients with vascular dementia (VD) and to explore its effect on serum neuronal apoptosis molecule levels in VD patients. For this purpose, 78 VD patients, as research objects, were grouped into a control group (acupuncture therapy) and an observation group (acupuncture therapy + Shibing Xingnao Granules) using the random number table method, with 39 cases per group. The clinical effect, cognitive function, neurological function, activity of daily liv...

Acupuncture for vascular mild cognitive impairment: a systematic review of randomised controlled trials.
CONCLUSIONS: The current clinical evidence is not of sufficient quality for wider application of acupuncture to be recommended for the treatment of VMCI, and further large, rigorously designed trials are warranted. PMID: 24123487 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Ultrastructure of the Subcutaneous Primo-Vascular System in Rat Abdomen.
In conclusion, the ultrastructural features, such as the resident cells on and in the sc-PVS and fiber meshwork covered by particles, indicate that sc-PVS might act as a circulatory channel for the flow and delivery of numerous cells and particles. Our findings will help understand the nature of various sc-PVS beneath-the-skin layers and how they relate to acupuncture meridians. PMID: 27526159 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
