In this study, accumulations of senescent astrocytes and microglia were found in tau-associated neurodegenerative disease model mice. Elimination of these senescent cells via a genetic approach can reduce tau deposition and prevent the degeneration of cortical and hippocampal neurons. CONCLUSIONS: We included data from five RCTs that evaluated hIVIG compared to standard therapy, with participants with moderate-to-severe disease. BCG: A throwback from the stone age of vaccines opened the path for bladder cancer immunotherapy.
CONCLUSION: After 4 decades of use, BCG remains the most effective agent against high risk NMIBC, but it still holds substantial drawbacks. The enduring use of immunotherapy for NMIBC has created a propitious environment to search for better alternatives.
