Clinical evaluation of sodium hypochlorite/amino acids and cross-linked hyaluronic acid adjunctive to non-surgical periodontal treatment: a randomized controlled clinical trial
ConclusionWithin their limits the present data indicate that: a) both treatments resulted in statistically significant improvements in all evaluated clinical parameters, and b) the adjunctive subgingival application of sodium hypochlorite/amino acid and xHyA to SRP yielded statistically significantly higher improvements compared to SRP alone.Clinical relevanceThe combination of sodium hypochlorite/amino acid and xHyA gels to subgingival mechanical debridement appears to represent a valuable approach to additionally improve the outcomes of non-surgical periodontal treatment.Clinical Trial Registration Number NCT04662216 (ClinicalTrials.gov).

Pharmacological inhibition of S6K1 rescues synaptic deficits and attenuates seizures and depression in chronic epileptic rats
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, our data suggest that inhibition of S6K1 attenuates seizures and depression in chronic epileptic rats via the rescue of synaptic structural and functional deficits. Given the wide range of physiological functions of mTOR, inhibition of its effective but relatively simple functional downstream molecules is a promising target for the development of drugs for epilepsy.PMID:37736829 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14475

Risk Stratification in a Tertiary Care Spine Centre: Comparison Between STarTBack and OSPRO-YF Screening Tools
CONCLUSIONS: STarTBack and OSPRO-YF are short screening tools with acceptable convergent and known-group construct validity and no floor or ceiling effect of their total score. Both tools could assist with the identification, evaluation, and management of psychological distress in patients presenting to tertiary care spine centres.PMID:37736380 | PMC:PMC10510560 | DOI:10.3138/ptc-2021-0026

Factors affecting anxiety-related symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment among college student-athletes in the National College Health Assessment
CONCLUSIONS: Factors like year in school and availability of mental health information appeared to have little impact. Others including gender, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, school type, and prior mental health treatment had important effects on the experience of anxiety-related symptoms and the propensity to seek treatment. The present study provides additional evidence that the stresses Online First 2 placed on college student-athletes frequently lead to feelings of being overwhelmed and, eventually, anxiety disorder diagnoses. However, most student-athletes experiencing anxietyrelated symptoms still do not seek di...
