SUNY Downstate DPT
Hey! I've been applied to SUNY Downstate for a little over two months now, but haven't heard anything. Whenever I email them they say my application is still being reviewed and the program is still rendering decisions. I'm not sure what to do or what this means! I haven't been called for an interview or anything. Any advice would help! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Do I Have to Practice in the State That I Take the NPTE in?
This may be a silly question, but I have heard conflicting information. Basically, I'm just wondering if I go to school and take/ pass the NPTE in, for example Oregon, would that mean that I have to practice in that specific state forever? Would I be unable to practice in another state? And, if so, is it more challenging to get a job in a different state than you studied in? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

A Comparison of Physical Therapy OCS Rehabilitation Certification to Chiropractic Rehabilitation Training and a Proposed PTA-E Role
Both chiropractors and physical therapists compete for the same pool of rehabilitation patients but there are some important differences. Many chiropractors also claim to offer rehabilitation in addition to passive spinal manipulation. Let's look at the data. Physical Therapy Evidence-based curriculum 30% of PTs perform spinal manipulation. PTs are proven to be safer providers of manipulation than chiropractors (93% of problems from DCs vs 6% from PTs)... From one PT program to another
So I’m currently in my first semester at a PT program in NC. I’m originally from FL but it was me and wife’s 5-year-plan to move to NC, so applying to schools in NC made sense. To make a long story short, we found out we were expecting our first baby a few months before I started in January. I did research and found that University of St. Augustine accepts transfer credits, which would be amazing since my in laws live in Daytona. Our main concern right now is being around family (for obvious... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Embroidered Scrubs Question
Hello! I am not a physical therapist, but one of my close friends just graduated PT school and I wanted to get her embroidered scrubs as a gift. I'm not sure what proper etiquette for titles or placement is. Would the below be fine? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

NOVA Ft Laud Waitlist Question
Hello, I was waitlisted from NSU Ft Laud DPT on January 4 of this year. On the 17th, I sent a letter of continued interest. I really want to get into this school specifically. I was hoping to ask: Has anyone been waitlisted from this program and then gotten in after? If so, what did the turn around time? Is there an amount of time that will pass at which point it's highly unlikely they get back to me? Also: is there anything else I can do that might boost my chances? As I've... MGH IHP vs. Boston University
I'm currently deciding between MGH and BU and I wanted to see if there were any current DPT students at either school that would be willing to share their experiences. Any feedback is appreciated, both positive and negative. Specifically for MGH I would be interested to know what people's opinions are of the new curriculum. I would also love to hear from anyone who has decided to attend either of these schools this upcoming summer. Why did you choose MGH or BU? Thank you in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Question about nerve glides for sciatica
Hi all, I've been an aide for two DPTs. The first didn't perform nerve glides at all for patients with sciatica, citing that he found it often made the patient worse. The second DPT is at the opposite end of the spectrum. I've seen him perform nerve glides with all the sciatica patients. All three are in extreme pain when he does them, even the guy who has no sciatica pain, only numbness. One woman literally begs him to stop, another cries, and the guy curses a storm and apologizes... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
