High first trimester ferritin levels differ according to parity and are independently related to preterm birth: A prospective cohort study
ConclusionsFirst trimester parity specific ferritin and CRP levels could play a part in predictive models for preterm birth, and further research for their additive role in preterm birth is needed. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Vitamin D3 among neonates born after in  vitro fertilization compared with neonates from the general population
ConclusionsIn this study, children born after in  vitro fertilization have a higher vitamin D3 than a random sample of neonates in Denmark. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Regional practice variation in hysterectomy and the implementation of less invasive surgical procedures: A register ‐based study in the Netherlands
ConclusionsRegional variation exists in the rates of hysterectomy and minimally invasive techniques. The absence of a significant substitution effect provides no clear evidence that minimally invasive techniques have replaced hysterectomy in clinical practice. However, although the result was not significant, embolization could be an exception based on its stronger negative association. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

vNOTES retroperitoneal sentinel lymph node dissection for endometrial cancer staging: First multicenter, prospective case series
ConclusionsThis prospective multicenter case series demonstrates the feasibility of the vNOTES approach for identifying and removing sentinel lymph nodes in women with endometrial carcinoma successfully and safely. vNOTES allows sole transvaginal access with exposure of the entire retroperitoneal space, following the natural lymph trajectory caudally to cranially, and without the need for a Trendelenburg position. Objective assessment tools in laparoscopic or robotic ‐assisted gynecological surgery: A systematic review
ConclusionsExisting objective assessment tools lack evidence on predicting patient outcomes and suffer from limitations in transferability outside of the research environment, particularly for automated performance metrics. Future research should prioritize filling these gaps while integrating advanced technologies like kinematic data and AI for robust, objective surgical skill assessment within gynecological advanced surgical training programs. Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy among women with cardiovascular disease in Norway: A historical cohort study
ConclusionsThe occurrence of hypertensive disease of pregnancy in the study cohort was more than doubled compared to the general population in Norway. The risk of HDP increased with maternal cardiovascular risk group. We recommend taking into account maternal cardiovascular risk group when assessing risk and prophylaxis of HDP. Incorporation of vasa previa screening into a routine anomaly scan: A single center cohort study
ConclusionsVP complicates approximately 1:1300 pregnancies. Routine screening for VP yielded a 100% detection rate. We suggest the inclusion of structured VP assessment in standard fetal anomaly screening programs. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Uterine contractile activity and neonatal outcome – A blind analysis of a randomized controlled trial cohort
ConclusionsIncreasing intrauterine pressure impairs umbilical artery pH especially among parturients with suspected chorioamnionitis. Fetuses in pregnancies affected by chorioamnionitis, hypertensive or diabetic disorders are more vulnerable to high intrauterine pressure. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

In vitro biomechanical properties of porcine perineal tissues to better understand human perineal tears during delivery
ConclusionsIn this population of fresh dead sow's perineum, the vagina and the anal mucosa were the stiffest tissues. The IAS and EAS were more extensible and less stiff. A significantly positive correlation was found between C1 and the duration between the first microfailure and the complete rupture of the vagina, and the duration between the first microfailure and the complete rupture of the vagina.
