Anxiety, Depression, Psychological Symptoms, Negative Effects, and Other Symptoms of Nicotine Withdrawal
This case occurred in a 33-year-old man who has been smoking for 19 years. He had a pattern of consuming 14 cigarettes per day with 30 mg of nicotine intake and high tar levels. The level of tolerance for consumption of nicotine and tar per day is 10 to 15 mg. High cigarette consumption correlates with high nicotine consumption as well. Excessive nicotine consumption over a long period can lead to lung cancer, stroke, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and psychological disorders. Conclusions: The lack of effective treatments for HPPD and a general lack of awareness among patients and providers leads to underdiagnosis and incorrect management. Trends in Mortality Due to Stimulants Use in Adolescents and Young Adults
Conclusion: The increase in overall mortality rate because of stimulants use reflects the increase of MA use in this age group. The difference in the rate of change shows worsening racial inequality. Effectiveness of Positive Psychology Skills Training on Life Expectancy of Addicts in Tehran
In this study, 60 addicts were selected who were randomly assigned to experimental (n=30) and control (n=30) groups. Group therapy sessions consisted of 10 sessions, twice a week for 90 minutes each time. The research tool was Snyder Hope Questionnaire. Analysis of variance with repeated measures was used to analyze the data. A Clinical Trial to Assess the Role of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Smoking Cessation in an Egyptian Sample
Conclusions: In a study that simulates real-life conditions in Egyptian smokers, 6 sessions of high-frequency active rTMS over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex did not produce a statistically significant increase in abstinence over sham rTMS at the same site.
