What to use instead of NICE Evidence Search - some recommendations (sort of)

Conclusions. The nerve roots of CIDP, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type-1, and polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, M protein, and skin changes syndrome were difficult to distinguish by MRN. Atypical CIDP patients had less nerve root injury compared with typical CIDP patients. MRN of either the brachial plexus or the lumbosacral plexus had a high diagnostic accuracy for CIDP, and it is not necessary to perform both parts of the examination. Level of Evidence: 2

Interleukin 8, a Biomarker to Differentiate Guillain-Barre Syndrome From CIDP
Conclusion CSF IL-8 levels can help to differentiate AIDP variant of GBS from CIDP, including acute-onset CIDP, with high specificity and PPV. This may improve early and appropriate treatment. Classification of Evidence This study provides Class II evidence that CSF IL-8 levels accurately distinguish patients with GBS from those with CIDP.

Frequency and clinical correlates of anti-nerve antibodies in a large population of CIDP patients included in the Italian database
ConclusionsAnti-paranodal and anti-ganglioside antibodies are infrequent in patients with CIDP but are associated with some typical clinical association supporting the hypothesis that CIDP might be a pathogenically heterogeneous syndrome possibly explaining the different clinical presentations.

To evaluate if duration of distal compound muscle action potential duration (DCMAPD) could represent a sensitive parameter in clinical practice to add to established electrophysiological diagnostic criteria in paediatric chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and its rule in patient’s follow-up. We retrospectively reviewed records of 8 children affected by CIDP (6/8 possible CIDP, 2/8 confirmed CIDP) according to established diagnostic criteria of the 88th ENMC International Workshop (2000), before consideration of DCMAPD prolongation.
