An organometallic swap strategy for bottlebrush polymer-protein conjugate synthesis
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00293h. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPolymer-protein bioconjugation offers a powerful strategy to alter the physical properties of proteins, and various synthetic polymer compositions and architectures have been investigated for this purpose. Nevertheless, conjugation of molecular bottlebrush polymers (BPs) to proteins remains an unsolved challenge due to the large size of BPs and a general lack of methods to transform the chain ends of BPs into functional groups suitable for bioconjugation. Here, we present a strategy to address this challenge in the context of BPs prepar...

Electrochemical oxidative C-C bond cleavage of methylenecyclopropanes with alcohols
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00843j. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHerein, an electrochemical approach toward the ring opening functionalization of methylenecyclopropanes (MCPs) via C-C bond cleavage in the presence of alcohols is reported. The methodology avoids the usage of external oxidants and shows good functional group tolerance. The mechanistic studies suggest that the reaction proceeds via direct single electron oxidation of the C-C bond of MCPs followed by ring opening to form the desired product.PMID:38530248 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc00843j (Source: Chemical Communications)

Easy conversion perovskite fluorides KCo < sub > 1- < em > x < /em > < /sub > Fe < sub > < em > x < /em > < /sub > F < sub > 3 < /sub > for efficient oxygen evolution reaction
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00839a. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHerein, we report an easily oxidized Co-Fe perovskite fluoride as an efficient catalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In situ Raman spectroscopy showed that the presence of F promotes reconstruction to form highly active (Co3+Fe3+)OOH, and the current density of 10 mA cm-2 can be achieved at the overpotential of only 118 mV in 1 M KOH aqueous solution. This work helps to understand the role of fluoride during the OER.PMID:38530667 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc00839a (Source: Chemical Communications)

Hydroxylation of the indium tin oxide electrode promoted by surface bubbles
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00307a. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAdherent bubbles at electrodes are generally treated as reaction penalties. Herein, in situ hydroxylation of indium tin oxide surfaces can be easily achieved by applying a constant potential of +1.0 V in the presence of bubbles. Its successful hydroxylation is further demonstrated by preparing a ferrocene-terminated film, which is confirmed by cyclic voltammetry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.PMID:38530669 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc00307a (Source: Chemical Communications)

Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00111g. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAn instant p-doping strategy employing 4-tert-butyl-2-chloropyridine and tert-butyl peroxybenzoate for the spiro-OMeTAD hole-transport layer (HTL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is proposed to replace the conventional 4-tert-butylpyridine-doped HTL.
