Risk Stratification of Type 2 Long-QT Syndrome Mutation Carriers With Normal QTc Interval: The Value of Sex, T-Wave Morphology, and Mutation Type [Original Articles]
Conclusions: The risk of cardiac events in LQT2 carriers with normal QTc is associated with abnormal T-wave morphology in women and pore location of mutation in men. The findings further indicate sex-specific differences in phenotype and genotype relationship in LQT2 patients. (Source: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology)

Lifetime Risk of Atrial Fibrillation by Race and Socioeconomic Status: ARIC Study (Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities) [Original Articles]
Conclusions: Lifetime risk of AF in the ARIC cohort was 1 in 3 among whites and 1 in 5 among African Americans. Socioeconomic status was inversely associated with cumulative incidence of AF before the last decades of life. (Source: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology)

Thirty-Second Gold Standard Definition of Atrial Fibrillation and Its Relationship With Subsequent Arrhythmia Patterns: Analysis of a Large Prospective Device Database [Original Articles]
Conclusions: Small differences in AF episode duration definition can significantly affect the perceived incidence of AF and impact reported outcomes, including AF ablation success. An initial AF episode of 30 seconds does not predict clinically meaningful AF patterns. (Source: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology)

Localized Structural Alterations Underlying a Subset of Unexplained Sudden Cardiac Death [Original Articles]
Conclusions: This study shows that localized structural alterations underlie a significant subset of previously unexplained sudden cardiac death. In the other subset, Purkinje electrical pathology seems as a dominant mechanism. (Source: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology)

Electrophysiological Characteristics of Bundle Branch Reentry Ventricular Tachycardia in Patients Without Structural Heart Disease [Original Articles]
Conclusions: Bundle branch reentry VT can occur in young patients with extensive conduction disturbances within HIS-Purkinje system. Ablation targeting at the distal left BB which bifurcates into left posterior and anterior fascicle can preserve the residual atrioventricular conduction, but intensive follow-up is needed. Frequency of Cardiac Rhythm Abnormalities in a Half Million Adults [Original Articles]
Conclusions: The frequency of rhythm abnormalities in middle-aged to older community-dwelling adults is substantial. Atrial fibrillation, bradyarrhythmias, and conduction system diseases account for most rhythm conditions. (Source: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology)

Minimally Invasive Implantation of a Micropacemaker Into the Pericardial Space [Original Articles]
Conclusions: A novel micropacemaker system allows cardiac pacing without entering the vascular space or surgical exposure of the heart. This pericardial pacemaker system may be an option for a large number of patients currently requiring transvenous pacemakers but is particularly relevant for patients with restricted vascular access, young children, or those with congenital heart disease who require epicardial access. The US Experience of the Wearable Cardioverter-Defibrillator in Pediatric Patients [Original Articles]
Conclusions: The WCD has overall adequate compliance with appropriate wear times and wear durations in pediatric patients. The WCD is safe and effective in treating ventricular arrhythmias that can lead to sudden cardiac death in pediatric patients. (Source: Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology)

Electrocardiograms in Healthy North American Children in the Digital Age [Original Articles]
Conclusions: In this large, diverse cohort of healthy children, most ECG intervals and amplitudes varied by sex and race. These differences have important implications for interpreting pediatric ECGs in the modern era when used for diagnosis or screening, including thresholds for left ventricular hypertrophy.
