Synergistic effect of independent risk factors for post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis: a multicenter retrospective study in Japan
CONCLUSIONS: As the number of risk factors for PEP increases, the risk of PEP may not be additive; however, it may multiply. Thus, aggressive prophylaxis for PEP is strongly recommended in patients with multiple risk factors.PMID:38632965 | DOI:10.5946/ce.2023.203 (Source: Clinical Endoscopy)

Polyposis of gastrointestinal tract after COVID-19 mRNA vaccination: a report of two cases
Clin Endosc. 2024 Apr 12. doi: 10.5946/ce.2023.268. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCronkhite-Canada syndrome is a rare gastrointestinal polyposis syndrome with distinctive clinical features and endoscopic findings. Diagnosis can be challenging without suspicion, and the disease carries high mortality due to complications such as infection, gastrointestinal bleeding, and malignancies. This paper presents two cases of Cronkhite-Canada syndrome occurring after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mRNA vaccination. Both cases exhibited typical clinical findings, including hypogeusia, onychodystrophy, alopecia, and weight loss. T...

Development of a predictive model for hypoxia due to sedatives in gastrointestinal endoscopy: a prospective clinical study in Korea
CONCLUSIONS: High BMI, neck circumference, and Mallampati score were independently associated with hypoxia during sedative endoscopy. International Digestive Endoscopy Network consensus on the management of antithrombotic agents in patients undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopy
Clin Endosc. 2024 Mar;57(2):141-157. doi: 10.5946/ce.2024.002. Epub 2024 Mar 14.ABSTRACTAntithrombotic agents, including antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants, are widely used in Korea because of the increasing incidence of cardiocerebrovascular disease and the aging population. The management of patients using antithrombotic agents during endoscopic procedures is an important clinical challenge. The clinical practice guidelines for this issue, developed by the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, were published in 2020. However, new evidence on the use of dual antiplatelet therapy and direct anticoagulant manage...

Performance comparison between two computer-aided detection colonoscopy models by trainees using different false positive thresholds: a cross-sectional study in Thailand
CONCLUSION: Compared to CADe, Deep-GI demonstrated a higher PDS with significantly lower FPR at ≥0.5- and ≥1-second thresholds. At the ≥1.5-second threshold, both systems showed comparable FPR with increased PMR.PMID:38556473 | PMC:PMC10984740 | DOI:10.5946/ce.2023.145 (Source: Clinical Endoscopy)
