Associations between Different Antivirals and Hospital acquired Acute Kidney Injury in Adults with Herpes Zoster
CONCLUSIONS: Among antiviral therapies for herpes zoster, we found different risks of hospital acquired AKI among the patients receiving different antivirals, in particular, those administered intravenously. Among intravenous antivirals, acyclovir was associated with highest risk of hospital acquired AKI, followed by penciclovir/ganciclovir and foscarnet. Confirmation studies with large samples from other populations are warranted.PMID:38527975 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.0000000000000452 (Source: Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology : CJASN)

Non-Lupus Full House Nephropathy
CONCLUSIONS: Our data support that SLE and non-lupus full house nephropathy are distinct clinical entities, with comparable outcomes. A small subset of patients develops SLE during follow-up. Non-lupus full house nephropathy is addressed by many different names in the literature. The identification of three pathogenetic categories provides further clues for the management of the disease.PMID:38527995 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.0000000000000438 (Source: Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology : CJASN)

Calibration of Priority Points for Sensitization Status of Kidney Transplant Candidates in the United States
CONCLUSIONS: Results indicate that the weighting algorithm for highly sensitized candidates may overinflate the need for prioritization and lead to higher rates of transplantation. Findings suggest re-calibration of priority weights for allocation is needed to facilitate overall equity in access to transplantation for prospective kidney transplant candidates. However, priority points should also account for subgroups of candidates who are disadvantaged for access to donor offers.PMID:38509037 | DOI:10.2215/CJN.0000000000000449 (Source: Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology : CJASN)
