Haloterapy Opinions and Haloterapy Devices
Hi CF community This group is great and helped us a lot. I'm a parent of a recently diagnostic CF 8 year old girl. She had two positive sweat tests and we are waiting for the mutation test results. She has tried Haloterapy (Salt Rooms), and we saw good result in releasing and ticketing the mucus. In my opinion, it is one of the most efficient therapyes that she used. I'm writing you to: 1º-Know your opinion about Haloterapy. 2º-Do you know any portable Device that we can use at home? I have searched and found the following: http://www.healyourself.com.au/aroma...py-halotherapy http://www.salinetherapy.com/ https://w...

Creatinine Help
I've been having a lot of trouble the last few years with IV meds putting a strain on my kidneys. It always seemed that no matter how much I drank, or how many liters of fluid I got, my creatinine would go up. I'd have to hold the antibiotics, and the result was a hospital stay or home IV cycle that wasn't as effective as it could have been. After my last hospital stay, I started doing research into natural ways to lower creatinine. I came across nettle leaf tea as being the best opinion. I asked my doctor if I could try it, and she said that would be fine. I couldn't find leaves to make tea, but the natural grocers had a...

Has anyone tried Plexus for Blood Sugar control?
Hi y'all! I am 32 yo female and found out last June my A1C was elevated. Rather than jump right into insulin, I decided to do my best to control by being careful about the foods I eat. I was having some success (when I was perfect) but now I'm pregnant! With pregnancies 1 and 2 this meant sugars that went a little crazy. My friend sells Plexus products (they have a full selection of supplements, probiotics, etc) and a specific product called Plexus Slim. Anyone heard of it? Well, don't let the name fool you. It was developed for blood sugar regulation and then they discovered some people lost weight on it (because of BS re...

Help with Sinuses. Recommendations needed to break up sinus junk!
Hi guys, Does anyone have GOOD recommendations on how to break up sinus mucus/junk? Here is my situation.. I've had 4 sinus surgeries now, 2 clean outs and 2 drilling, and my sinuses STILL get blocked! When I say blocked, what I'm talking about is I literally have sinus pressure headaches every day, some days ibuprofen, tylenol, mucinex, and sudafed dont even take care of it. I do sinus rinses 2-3 times a day using distilled water, essential oils, 1 tablespoon of pickling salt, and .5 tablespoon of baking soda. I've used essential oils on outside of skin to help relieve pain and pressure but nothing majorly helps. I occ...

Medical Marijuana as an Addition to Modern Medicine
After some research, I believe that Medical Marijuana's benefits far out way the risks. There are multiple alternatives to the typical instruments used to smoke marijuana, such as Vaporizing. Vaporizing uses convection heating to heat the air in a device to such a high temperature that it 'vaporizes' the marijuana plant, therefore, releasing its cannabinoids including THC (the psychoactive chemical of the plant), CBD & CBN (non-psychoactive chemicals of the plant), into a plastic type balloon or a medical grade plastic 'whip'. Because of the state's decision to legalize of Medical Marijuana, it can be monitored as w...

Using engineered probiotic bacteria for treating Pseudomonas-induced lung infection
Hi everyone, I am a member of a research group that engineered a commensal probiotic bacteria from the human gut to seek and kill Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This work is currently undergoing pre-clinical trial and we hope to reach clinical trial stage in a few years to treat Pseudomonas infections, which potentially include lung infections induced by Pseudomonas. In anticipation of the difficulties we may encounter in researching and promoting this treatment, we are conducting this short survey to understand the perspectives of healthcare specialists, patients and the public on this form of treatment. We hope that ...

My Next Stem Cell Treatment, Need Your Help
I am 53 and planning to go in for my 3rd adult stem cell treatment in Sept. Should be off oxygen by Thanksgiving as a result. I know another CF Warrior going in a couple of weeks, and can't wait to hear about her results in the next few months. Can't disclose her name, because most CF docs get hostile about this. I had to leave Nashville/Vandy for that very reason. My CF doc in S. FL does not believe the stem cells work. He says, "You have no proof." But at least I can have an adult conversation with him. I told him that I am the proof. 3 years ago I had both feet in the grave with only weeks to live. 4 tuneups a...

Headaches and Muscle Cramps
Many CF warriors experience chronic headaches. I have not yet heard from any doctors a clear and reasonable explanation as to why we have the headaches. My suspicion is that CF is not directly the cause of the headaches, but all the stuff we do and go through as a result of CF can point to several culprits. All I can contribute to this issue is my own experience. I have gone through periods of time with continuous headaches (if I don’t medicate the headache) and periods of time with absolutely no headaches. By the process of elimination, I have come to some conclusions. Due to CF causing a rapid depletion of vit...
