Immediate or staged complete revascularisation in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome by number of diseased  vessels: a substudy of the BIOVASC randomised trial
CONCLUSIONS: ICR might be an option in patients presenting with extensive 3VD and might be associated with a lower rate of myocardial infarction compared with SCR.PMID:38629415 | PMC:PMC11017224 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00762 (Source: EuroIntervention)

Outcomes and predictors of left ventricle recovery in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation
CONCLUSIONS: LV recovery following TAVI and the extent of this recovery are major determinants of midterm mortality in patients with severe AS and severe LV dysfunction undergoing TAVI. Patients with no previous MI and those with an mAVG >40 mmHg show the best results following TAVI, which are at least equivalent to those for patients without severe LV dysfunction. Renal denervation in the management of hypertension
EuroIntervention. 2024 Apr 15;20(8):e467-e478. doi: 10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00836.ABSTRACTArterial hypertension is a global leading cause of cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and renal disease, as well as mortality. Although pharmacotherapy is safe and effective in lowering blood pressure (BP) and cardiovascular disease risk, BP control remains poor, and the mortality rates associated with high BP have been steadily increasing. Device-based therapies have been investigated to overcome barriers to pharmacotherapy, including non-adherence and low rates of persistence to daily medications. Among these device-based therapies, catheter...

A randomised multicentre study of angiography- versus physiologyguided percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with coronary artery disease undergoing TAVI: design and rationale of the FAITAVI trial
EuroIntervention. 2024 Apr 15;20(8):e504-e510. doi: 10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00679.ABSTRACTThe treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with severe aortic valve stenosis (AVS) eligible for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is not supported by clinical evidence, and the role of physiology over anatomy as well as the timing of coronary intervention are not defined. FAITAVI (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03360591) is a nationwide prospective, open-label, multicentre, randomised controlled study comparing the angiography-guided versus the physiology-guided coronary revascularisation strategy in patients with combin...

A study of ChatGPT in facilitating Heart Team decisions on severe aortic stenosis
CONCLUSIONS: The use of LLMs offers promising opportunities to improve the HT decision-making process. This study showed that ChatGPT's decisions were consistent with those of the HT in a large proportion of cases. This technology could serve as a failsafe, highlighting potential areas of discrepancy when its decisions diverge from those of the HT. Further research is necessary to solidify our understanding of how AI can be integrated to enhance the decision-making processes of HTs.PMID:38629422 | PMC:PMC11017225 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00643 (Source: EuroIntervention)
