Serum Levels of Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 1 and Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 as Biomarkers to Predict Radiotherapy Sensitivity in Cervical Cancer
CONCLUSION: Serum ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 levels show potential as predictive biomarkers for radiotherapy sensitivity in cervical cancer.PMID:38618575 | PMC:PMC11006555 | DOI:10.1055/a-2275-0717 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)

The NF κB Signaling Pathway Is Involved in the Pathophysiological Process of Preeclampsia
Geburtshilfe Frauenheilkd. 2024 Apr 10;84(4):334-345. doi: 10.1055/a-2273-6318. eCollection 2024 Apr.ABSTRACTThe high prevalence of preeclampsia (PE) is a major cause of maternal and fetal mortality and affects the long-term prognosis of both mother and baby. Termination of pregnancy is currently the only effective treatment for PE, so there is an urgent need for research into its pathogenesis and the development of new therapeutic approaches. The NFκB family of transcription factors has an essential role in inflammation and innate immunity. In this review, we summarize the role of NFκB in normal and preeclampsia pregnan...

Histology Findings after Two Years of Cytology/HPV Co-Testing in Germany
CONCLUSION: More CIN lesions were found with co-testing, but the increase in histology findings of low-grade or no dysplasia was far greater than findings of CIN3. Lesions not requiring treatment accounted for 94.4% of biopsy results in 2020/21. The use of computer-assisted LBC with progression markers could reduce this.PMID:38618577 | PMC:PMC11006558 | DOI:10.1055/a-2265-3578 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)

National and International Comparisons of Gynecological Research in Germany Based on a Bibliometric Analysis of Publications
CONCLUSION: For the German Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the results suggest a number of approaches to promote young researchers. The support provided to young female doctors is especially important as this should help to retain them as junior researchers over the long term.PMID:38618578 | PMC:PMC11006559 | DOI:10.1055/a-2200-4122 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)

Is Appendectomy During Late Stages of Pregnancy Associated with an Increased Cesarean Delivery Rate? - a Retrospective Analysis of One Center During 10 Years
CONCLUSION: In this small monocentric cohort, only open appendectomies were performed. Our data indicate that it is safe to perform open appendectomy during pregnancy if necessary. In this small patient group, there was an increase in simultaneous cesarean deliveries.PMID:38618579 | PMC:PMC11006560 | DOI:10.1055/a-2273-2672 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)
