Multidisciplinary neurocutaneous syndrome clinics: a systematic review and institutional experience
CONCLUSIONS: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first detailed description of a comprehensive pediatric neurocutaneous clinic in the US that serves patients with multiple syndromes. There is currently heterogeneity between described multidisciplinary clinic structures and practices. More detailed accounts of clinic compositions and practices along with patient data and outcomes are needed in order to establish the most comprehensive and efficient multidisciplinary approach for neurocutaneous syndromes.PMID:35535824 | DOI:10.3171/2022.2.FOCUS21776

Commentary: Evaluating Pediatric Mitral Valve Patient-Prosthetic Mismatch —When Is Too Small, Too Small?
In this issue of Seminars.1 Nakamura and colleagues from Osaka, Japan study potential criteria for valve re-replacement in children after mechanical mitral valve replacement (MVR). This was a single-center retrospective review of 15 children that underwent MVR with a 16-mm ATS mechanical valve and was recently presented at the AATS 101st annual meeting. The authors retrospectively collected data from cardiac catheterizations and echocardiography for analysis. Indexed effective orifice area (iEOA) was calculated from cardiac catheterization data using the Gorlin formula.
