Intraperitoneal dissemination of primary dedifferentiated liposarcoma of omentum simulating an ovarian cancer & #8211; A case report
Manisha A Atram, Abhay Deshmukh, VB Shivkumar, Nitin M GanganeIndian Journal of Cancer 2022 59(3):422-425 Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma (DDLPS) is a rare subtype of liposarcoma with a high preponderance of local recurrence and distant metastasis. The frequent site of DDLPS is the retroperitoneum, followed by the limbs and trunk. The primary omental DDLPS is very rare and only a few cases have been reported in the literature. Here we report a rare case of primary giant DDLPS of omentum with intraperitoneal metastasis in a 61year old woman. The present case report adds to our knowledge, that a case of intraperitoneal DDLPS c...

Derivative 6 as an additional chromosomal abnormality along with t(15;17): A case report
We report a rare finding of primary clone of t(15;17) followed by a sequential clonal evolution of additional derivative chromosome 6 formation by a two hit mechanism. Our case showed a good clinical response with a four years and nine months event free survival after ATRA and ATO combination therapy in spite of existence of three chromosomal abnormalities stating that targeted therapy overcomes the adverse effects of additional genetic markers. However, close monitoring with assessment for long term prognostic behavior is required. (Source: Indian Journal of Cancer)

Diagnostic dilemma in hyperechoic breast masses
Rajesh R Shah, Maharra S HussainIndian Journal of Cancer 2022 59(3):416-418 Hyperechoic breast lesions are relatively uncommon, constituting only 0.6–6% of all breast masses and 0.6% of all biopsied lesions. The majority of these lesions are benign. There are rare malignancies that can present as hyperechoic masses and careful ultrasonographic assessment must be employed to avoid misdiagnosis.[1] We discuss the case of a 67-year-old female patient with a strong family history of breast and ovarian cancer, who presented with one such rare breast cancer in a hyperechoic mass. Histopathological and immunohistochemical clues to the illusive diagnosis of follicular dendritic cell sarcoma: A clinicopathological masquerader
Ridhi Sood, Anurag MehtaIndian Journal of Cancer 2022 59(3):410-415 Follicular dendritic cell sarcoma is a rare histiocytic and dendritic neoplasm mainly involving the lymph nodes and selective extranodal sites. They are often misdiagnosed due to nonspecific clinical, radiological, and morphological findings in addition to their rarity. Four cases described below had variable age of presentation, site of involvement, size of the lesion, and histopathological features. Application of an extensive immunohistochemical panel, including a combination of >1 dendritic cell marker, clinched the diagnosis. A combination...

Dosimetric evaluation of the effect of dental restorative materials in head and neck radiotherapy
Conclusion: Our dosimetric results for a single beam geometry suggest that, among the three types of filling, resin composite filling is an ideal restorative filling material with minimal morbidity-inducing radiation dose enhancement that may result in increased osteoradionecrosis and secondary caries risk. There is a need for further dosimetric studies with actual clinical beam arrangements. (Source: Indian Journal of Cancer)
