Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor from the greater omentum in children: A rare case report
Honghao Song, Huiyu Zhang, Yongfei Zhang, Xiaoqing Wang, Wei LiuJournal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics 2022 18(7):2066-2069 Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) prevalence is less than one in a million. Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive IMT in the greater omentum and with a diameter greater than 8 cm is extremely rare. Here, we present a case and provide a brief literature review. A 4-year-old female was referred to our hospital with a 1-month history of intermittent fever. Computed tomography revealed a 6.4 × 5.5 × 6.5-cm lesion between the spleen and stomach. During the operation...

Meta-analysis of neurocognitive rehabilitation for cognitive dysfunction among pediatric cancer survivors
Fang He, Haiying Huang, Liyan Ye, Xiulan Wen, Andy S. K. ChengJournal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics 2022 18(7):2058-2065 Cancer and its treatment significantly affect the cognitive functioning of pediatric cancer survivors. This meta-analysis aimed to examine the effects of neurocognitive rehabilitation interventions on the cognitive functioning and intellectual performance of pediatric cancer survivors. Four databases were searched until December 15, 2021. RevMan 5.4 was used to analyze the effects of neurocognitive rehabilitation interventions on the cognitive functioning of pediatric cancer survivors. Ten eligibl...

Serological indices and ultrasound variables in predicting the staging of hepatitis B liver fibrosis: A comparative study based on random forest algorithm and traditional methods
Conclusion: RFA can significantly improve the diagnostic performance of HBV liver fibrosis staging. RFA based on serological indices has a good ability to predict liver fibrosis staging. RFA can help clinicians accurately judge liver fibrosis staging and reduce unnecessary biopsies. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Computed tomography findings, associated factors, and management of pulmonary nodules in 54,326 healthy individuals
Conclusions: LDCT was suitable for large-scale pulmonary nodules screening in healthy individuals, which was helpful for the early detection of suspicious lesions in the lung. In addition to surgical resection, MWA is an option for early lung cancer treatment. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells expressing BMP2 suppress glioma stem cell growth and stemness through Bcl-2/Bax signaling
Conclusion: BMSC-BMP2 could effectively inhibit GSC proliferation, induce GSC apoptosis, and decrease GSC stemness, thereby providing a novel strategy for treating malignant glioma. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

mFOLFOX4 with or without radiation in neoadjuvant treatment of locally advanced middle and low rectal cancer
Conclusions: NCT with mFOLFOX4 independently resulted in a lower pathological complete remission rate, with less toxicity and shorter operation time. NCT with mFOLFOX4 has certain clinical usefulness. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Preoperative tumor abnormal protein is a promising biomarker for predicting hepatocellular carcinoma oncological outcome following curative resection
Conclusion: The present study suggests that higher preoperative TAP is correlated with undesirable prognosis in HCC patients who underwent a radical hepatectomy. Our study provides a robust nomogram for RFS of postoperative HCC patients. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)

Study on the timing of first dressing change with alginate dressing application in PICC placement among tumor patients
Conclusions: The condition of each tumor patient should be comprehensively evaluated after PICC placement to determine when the first dressing change should occur, but it can likely be extended to 96 h after insertion to promote wound healing, reduce clinical workload, and lower patient economic burden. Comparison of nomogram with random survival forest for prediction of survival in patients with spindle cell carcinoma
Conclusions: The nomogram developed in this study is a promising tool with a simplified presentation that can easily be used and interpreted by clinicians for evaluating the survival of each patient with SpCC; its performance was comparable to that of RSF. Application of such models are needed to help oncologists identify the high-risk patients and improve clinical decision making of SpCC treatment. (Source: Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics)
