The effect of using different kinematics single file systems with coronal preflaring ınstruments on postoperative pain with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis: A randomized clinical trial
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of using coronal preflaring file (One Flare; OF) with rotational (One Curve; OC) and reciprocal (Wave One Gold; WOG) single file systems on postoperative pain in mandibular premolar teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. Comparative evaluation of the canal shaping ability, pericervical dentin preservation and smear layer removal of TruNatomy, WaveOne Gold and Protaper Ultimate – an ex vivo study in human teeth
Innovative file systems have been recently introduced, claiming improved effectiveness and superior ability to preserve the tooth structure, still allowing an efficient preparation and disinfection up to the apical region. Regardless, few data are available on the comparative effectiveness of the most recently developed systems. Thus, this ex vivo study aimed to comparatively evaluate, for the first time, the functionality of WaveOne Gold (WOG), TruNatomy (TN), and Protaper Ultimate (PU) file systems regarding canal shaping, dentin preservation, and smear layer removal ability. The top 100 most-cited articles on permanent teeth avulsion: a bibliometric analysis
Knowledge of bibliometric indices on the avulsion of permanent teeth can help researchers to identify gaps in the literature. The aim of this study was to analyze the bibliometric characteristics of the 100 most cited articles on the avulsion of permanent teeth. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

The Effects of Calcium Silicate- and Calcium Hydroxide –based Root Canal Sealers on Postoperative Pain: A Randomized Clinical Trial
This study aimed to compare the postoperative pain level changes resulting from using calcium silicate- (EndoSeal MTA) and calcium hydroxide –based (Sealapex) root canal sealers in mandibular first and second molar teeth with symptomatic apical periodontitis. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Dynamics of innate immune response in bacteria-induced mouse model of pulpitis
During pulpitis as bacteria penetrate deeper into the dentin and pulp tissue, a pulpal innate immune response is initiated. However, the kinetics of the immune response, how this relates to bacterial infiltration during pulpitis and an understanding of the types of immune cells in the pulp is limited. “Effect of heat generated by endodontic obturation techniques on bond strength of bioceramic sealers to dentine”
Gutta-percha combined with an endodontic sealer remains the most widely used obturation technique. Bioceramic sealers (BS) were developed for root canal obturation in combination with gutta-percha cones using the cold single-cone technique. Few studies have assessed the effect of thermal treatment on the performance of BS. The present study evaluated the effect of heat on BS adhesion to root dentine in the apical third of the root canal of extracted human lower premolars. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Insights into the October 2023 Issue of the JOE
The narrative review by Lerdrungroj et al., explored the clinical management of dens evaginatus (DE). The current authors performed a comprehensive search in prevalence, prophylaxis and management of DE (1). Two hundred sixty-four articles met the eligibility criteria. DE has a prevalence of 0.5-6.3%, with a probability of a genetic predisposition. It is most commonly seen in mandibular premolars, though it may develop in all tooth types. Teeth with normal pulp and reversible pulpitis should be restored with a bonded material to reinforce pulpal vitality. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Investigating In situ Expression of Neurotrophic Factors and Partner Proteins in Irreversible Pulpitis
In situ assessments of neurotrophic factors and their associated molecular partners have not been explored to date particularly in humans. The present investigation aims to explore the expressional dysregulation of neurotrophic factors (NGF, BDNF and NT4/5), their receptors (TrkA and TrkB) and their modulators (USP36 and Nedd4-2) directly in irreversibly inflamed human pulp tissues.
