This study reports a case of nontraumatic painful snapping of the BFT due to a prominent fibular head that was persistent intraoperatively after fibular head resection. We describe a novel surgical technique of release of the anterior arm of the biceps tendon followed by soft tissue tenodesis to the popliteofibular ligament, as opposed to the remaining fibular head, to prevent iatrogenic fracture. “Baker's Cyst”–Induced Above-Knee Amputation
We report a 65-year-old man who presented with a necrotic fifth toe, incipient phlegmon and hypesthesia of the right foot, a swollen lower leg, and a palpable popliteal mass. An occlusion of the popliteal artery secondary to a Baker's cyst was found to have caused protracted ischemia and the abovementioned symptoms. Periosteal Sleeve Avulsion Fracture of the Quadriceps Tendon
We present the case of a 15-year-old girl who sustained a patellar sleeve avulsion of the quadriceps tendon 1 month following patellar dislocation without surgical treatment. Open repair of quadriceps tendon was performed with subsequent union. Arthrofibrosis of the knee was noted; two subsequent manipulations and adhesiolysis were performed. At 18-month postinjury, normal motion and strength were present. Polyethylene Tibial Post Fracture in a Posterior Stabilized (Genesis II) Total Knee Arthroplasty
This study reports the case of a fractured polyethylene tibial post in a 49-year-old white male patient at 4 years status post a left posterior stabilized total knee arthroplasty. Anterior Closing Wedge Tibial Osteotomy for Failed Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
We present a case report outlining the surgical technique for correction of sagittal plane imbalance by a slope-decreasing anterior closing wedge tibial osteotomy combined with a second-stage revision ACL reconstruction. Sonographic Diagnosis of an Acute Lateral Meniscus Tear in a Division I Collegiate American Football Player
We present a case of an acute tear of the lateral meniscus in a collegiate athlete that was diagnosed in the training room immediately after injury using ultrasonography. The diagnosis was subsequently verified by MRI and arthroscopy. The patient was treated with partial meniscectomy and experienced an uneventful recovery with return to sport 3 weeks after injury. Anterior Cruciate Ligament Regeneration in an 8-Year-Old Patient
We report the case of an 8-year-old, skeletally immature patient with a midsubstance-ruptured ACL at physical exam and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Conservative treatment with a brace led to a stable knee with regeneration of the ACL on both the physical examination and MRI after 5 years. Massive Ossification of the Patellar Fat Pad: An Unusual Cause of Knee Stiffness
We report the unusual case of a patient who presented with a chronic knee extension contracture secondary to a large ossified mass in the anterior aspect of the knee. Radiographs, magnetic resonance imaging, and subsequent histopathology were consistent with a diagnosis of myositis ossificans of the fat pad. Acute Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury with Medial and Lateral Bucket-Handle Meniscus Tears
We report the case of a healthy 31-year-old female professional billiard player presented with a 5-day history of severe left knee pain after a fall.
