Factors Contributing to Telemedicine Efficacy in Pediatric Urology
Despite swift implementation of telemedicine with the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, there is a paucity of research on its use for management of pediatric urology patients. Specifically, there is limited knowledge and inconsistent data on the effectiveness of telemedicine for various pediatric urologic conditions. Our aim was to evaluate the efficacy of pediatric urological care provided via video visits (VVs) at a large tertiary care children ’s hospital. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

Reducing Fistula Rate in Hypospadias Repair: A Comparative Study Between Standard Tubularized Incised Plate Repair and Incorporation of a Layer of Spongiosum Tissue
The most prevalent complication in hypospadias repair is fistula formation. Adhering to the principle of providing urethroplasty coverage to mitigate fistula occurrence, we implemented a modification by integrating a spongiosum layer between the urethroplasty and the dartos flap. Our hypothesis posited that this approach would result in a reduced fistula formation rate. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

Response to commentary re 'commentary to surgical and functional outcomes of dorsal inlay graft urethroplasty in revision vs primary hypospadias repair in the pediatric age"
We thank the Authors of this comment for taking an interest in both our original article and the editorial commentary [1,2]. It provides a detailed digression on the anatomical structures that constitute and support the glandular urethra, and we appreciate the importance of a thorough understanding of the penile anatomy when embarking on complex reconstructive procedures such as hypospadias repairs. Long-term outcome of gender assignment in Individuals with 46, XY DSD assigned female sex in multicultural society
The decision regarding sex rearing in patients with Disorders of Sex Development (DSD) is heavily connected to the shared decision-making model within multidisciplinary team. Some of these patients might develop gender dysphoria, when they become adults. We have aimed to evaluate the long-term outcomes of patients with XY DSD who underwent female gender assignment at our center. (Source: Journal of Pediatric Urology)

Long-Term Bladder Outcomes Using A Prescriber Pattern Scoring System For Posterior Urethral Valves
Urinary drainage for posterior urethral valves can be achieved with valve ablation (VA) or diversion by vesicostomy (VES) or cutaneous ureterostomy (CU). The effect of these interventions on long-term bladder function remains debated, and voiding symptomatology after VES or CU reversal has been poorly characterized. Correspondence to the editorial comment for “Surgical and functional outcomes of Dorsal Inlay Graft urethroplasty in revision vs primary hypospadias repair in the pediatric age”
I read both the editorial commentary (1) and the article on “Surgical and functional outcomes of dorsal inlay graft urethroplasty in revision vs primary hypospadias repair in the pediatric age” (2). Although it has been stated that the strength of the article lies in the surgical descriptions and images, I would like to criticize and raise questions abou t the aims of hypospadias repair and grafting of the ventral surface of the glans and their relevance to normal anatomy. Comparison of the Efficiency of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and Manual Therapy in Children with Cerebral Palsy with Lower Urinary System Dysfunction- A Randomized Prospective Trial
Neurological defects in children with cerebral palsy (CP) not only affect their motor skills but also lead to bladder and bowel problems. Although most children with CP have achieved urinary control, more than 50% of cases experience lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Common LUTS complaints observed in CP include delayed toilet training, urinary incontinence, increased frequency of urination, urgency, urinary hesitancy, and recurrent urinary tract infections. Response to letter to the editor re: Can paediatric surgical registrars safely perform supervised hypospadias surgery?
Thank you to the author for their commentary to our paper [1]. We sought to provide a basis for further discussion on the yet little explored topic of trainee involvement in hypospadias repair. We wish to clarify first however, that we too believe hypospadias repair to be a technically demanding and complex procedure, deserving extensive training and close supervision of those learning the techniques.
