The latest release of Hospital Compare now includes three new measures: one for pneumonia and two for Surgical Infection Prevention (SIP). Enhancements also include the merging of the acute-care and critical access hospitals into one list and improvement of the bar graph to display the scores for the top 10% achieved by hospitals.

Home Health Compare which was first launched in October 2003 is now available in Spanish. In addition, the quality measures have also been updated to include information on patients whose bladder control improves, who are short of breath less often and who stay at home after home health care ends.

Helpful Contacts and Static sections of the Medicare.gov site now have a new "E-mail This Page" functionality. This feature offers users the capability to e-mail a Medicare.gov web page to another individual. Using this feature, family members and other partner organizations can research and communicate specific information to Medicare beneficiaries. In addition, information can now be shared in an e-mail that could not be bookmarked due to the dynamic nature of the information.
