Inter-night variability of in-home, overnight pulse oximetry screening in an asymptomatic older adult population
CONCLUSION: Inter-night variability of home OPO was minimal when values were near-normal in an older population. However, as values depart from normal, the inter-night variability increases, indicating the need for multiple night recordings. Low correlation to sleep questionnaires suggest the need for more robust OSA questionnaires in an asymptomatic population.PMID:38504043 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-024-03016-1 (Source: Sleep and Breathing)

Causal effects of sleep traits on metabolic syndrome and its components: a Mendelian randomization study
CONCLUSION: Our study supported daytime napping and insomnia were potential causal factors for MetS characterized by central obesity, hypertension, or elevated triglycerides.PMID:38507120 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-024-03020-5 (Source: Sleep and Breathing)

Bispectral Index versus the University of Michigan Sedation Scale in assessing sedation depth during pediatric drug-induced sleep endoscopy
CONCLUSION: BIS correlates with UMSS in determining the sedation level during pediatric DISE for two regimens. BIS might serve as an appropriate indicator of sedation intensity when UMSS could not be used.PMID:38499834 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-024-03022-3 (Source: Sleep and Breathing)
