Use of Initial Endotracheal versus Intravenous Epinephrine During Neonatal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in the Delivery Room: Review of a National Database
Neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room (DR) remains rare, with the majority of infants successfully transitioning from fetal to neonatal life with no additional resuscitative efforts required beyond the initial steps of warming, stimulation, repositioning and if needed, suctioning.1 Just under 10% require additional resuscitative support, usually in the form of positive pressure ventilation (PPV).2, ³ Less than 1% of newborns receive extensive resuscitation in the form of chest compressions ± epinephrine.⁴ If, after PPV and initial attempted ventilation corrective steps, the heart rate remains (Source: The Journal of Pediatrics)

The Growing Issue of Missing Children: The Need for a Comprehensive Strategy
Across the globe, children disappear daily for various reasons, presenting a deeply concerning issue. While the disappearance of individuals has long been troubling1, the incidence of missing children cases in Europe and the US has witnessed a concerning and consistent rise over the past decade2,3. Evolving Concepts in Care for Congenital Cytomegalovirus (cCMV) Infection: Better Outcomes for More Babies!
Congenital CMV (cCMV) represents the single most important infectious cause of permanent disability, in particular sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), in children1. There are ways to prevent acquisition of CMV during pregnancy, and treatment options are available for congenitally infected infants, but unfortunately the level of knowledge and awareness about the risks of CMV to pregnant persons and infants has lagged far behind other congenital and perinatal infections2. Thankfully, that situation is changing rapidly. (Source: The Journal of Pediatrics)
