On a snowy afternoon this past winter, there was an event sponsored by the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council to talk about the state of the industry, and the challenges it faces during the downturn. As everyone chewed on their chicken, a panel spoke about the benefits of Gov. Deval Patrick’s $1 billion life sciences bill. Janet Wolfe, the CEO of Wolfe Laboratories in Watertown, stood up and said, “This is great, but what is being done for the biotech services industry?
