Preparation, physicochemical, and retinal anti-angiogenic evaluation of poloxamer hydrogel containing dexamethasone/avastin-loaded chitosan-N-acetyl-L-cysteine nanoparticles
This study was meant to describe a Poloxamer hydrogel combining Chitosan-N-acetyl-L-cysteine (CNAC) nanoparticles to increase loading and sustained intravitreal administration of Avastin macromolecule. To increase the drug's efficacy and reduce the interfacial fluid pressure in a formulation, dexamethasone was used. To do so, CNAC was synthesized. Then, Avastin- loaded CNAC nanoparticles were prepared and optimized. The resulting hydrogel's sol-gel transition time and viscosity were determined using poloxamer and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC). In vitro and in vivo investigations of Avastin-loaded CNAC nanoparticles a...

Bioimaging and pulmonary applications of self-assembled Flt1 peptide-hyaluronic acid conjugate nanoparticles.
Abstract Despite wide exploitation of corticosteroid drugs for the treatment of asthma, the poor therapeutic effect on a neutrophilic subtype of asthma prohibits the full recovery of asthma patients. In this work, dexamethasone (Dexa) was loaded in Flt1 peptide-hyaluronic acid (HA) conjugate nanoparticles to overcome the limitation of corticosteroid resistance for the treatment of neutrophilic pulmonary inflammation. Flt1 peptide-HA conjugates are self-assembled to nanoparticles because of hydrophobic Flt1 peptide conjugated to HA by benzotriazol-1-yloxy-tris(dimethylamino)phosphonium hexafluorophosphate (BOP) che...

Optimized phospholipid-based nanoparticles for inner ear drug delivery and therapy.
Abstract To develop efficient carriers for inner ear drug delivery, we prepared four kinds of phospholipid-based nanoparticles: neutral, anionic, cationic, and cationic-PEG (polyethyleneglycol) particles. PEG was used to maintain long-term particle circulation in the perilymph, avoiding non-specific binding of particles to proteins. All four nanoparticles were about 200 nm in diameter, and their zeta potentials were -4.32, -26.0, +25.8, and -0.28, respectively, for neutral, anionic, cationic, and cationic-PEG nanoparticles. To test particle efficacy in vitro, we used an artificial mucosa 100 μm in thickne...

Smartphone enabled miniaturized temperature controller platform to synthesize nio/cuo nanoparticles for electrochemical sensing and nanomicelles for ocular drug delivery applications
Biomed Microdevices. 2021 Jun 6;23(2):31. doi: 10.1007/s10544-021-00567-y.ABSTRACTUndoubtedly, various kinds of nanomaterials are of great significance due to their enormous applications in diverse areas. The structure and productivity of nanomaterials are heavily dependent on the process used for their synthesis. The synthesizing process plays a vital role in shaping nanomaterials effectively for better productivity. The conventional method requires expensive and massive thermal instruments, a huge volume of reagents. This paper aims to develop an Automatic Miniaturized Temperature Controller (AMTC) device for the synthes...

Silk fibroin hydrogel/dexamethasone sodium phosphate loaded chitosan nanoparticles as a potential drug delivery system
This study prepared a sustained release formulation using dexamethasone sodium phosphate-loaded chitosan nanoparticles embedded in silk fibroin hydrogel. Dexamethasone sodium phosphate-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (DEX-CSNPs) was developed using the ionotropic-gelation technique and inserted in the silk fibroin hydrogel (SFH). Mean particle size, polydispersity index (PDI), and zeta potential of DEX-CSNPs were 488.05±38.69 nm, 0.15±0.07, 32.12±2.42 mV, respectively. The encapsulation efficiency (EE), drug loading capacity (LC), and the cumulative amount of released drug of DEX-loaded CSNPs, which detected in phosphate ...
