Sustainable and green trends in using plant extracts for the synthesis of biogenic metal nanoparticles toward environmental and pharmaceutical advances: A review
Environ Res. 2021 Jul 7:111622. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2021.111622. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTConventionally utilized physical and chemical routes for constructing nanoparticles are not eco-friendly. They are associated with many shortcomings like the requirement of specially designed equipment, templates, extremely high temperature, and pressure. Biosynthesis seems to be drawn unequivocal attention owing to its upsurge of applications in different fields like; energy, nutrition, pharmaceutical, and medicinal sciences. To harness the biological sources, the present review describes an environment-friendly route to gener...

Investigation of novel HCV therapies: Boscia angustifalia & amp;Boscia senegalensis extracts loaded on galactosylated chitosan nanoparticles synthesized by eco-friendly method for HCV treatment
In this study, we have modified galactosylation by an eco-friendly method using l-ascorbic instead of hazardous reagents and we have loaded it with newly tested two Boscia extracts each in three different concentrations. The synthesized chitosan nanoparticles showed two dispersion peaks, at 196 ± 29 nm and 1.33 ± 0.36 μm, with a zeta potential of +3.3 ± 0.4mV with high stability in a range of 40.7 mV. The percentage of encapsulation of Boscia angustifalia extract was found to be 46.58 ± 1.33 % and for Boscia senegalensis extract was 9.77 ± 0.33 %. The release of Boscia angustifalia extract from the nanoparticles was ...

Inhibitory effects of silver nanoparticles against adenovirus type 3 in vitro.
Abstract Adenoviruses are associated with respiratory, ocular, or gastrointestinal disease. With various species and high morbidity, adenoviruses are increasingly recognized as significant viral pathogen among pediatric and immunocompromised patients. However, there is almost no specific drug for treatment. Silver nanoparticles are demonstrated to be virucidal against influenza A (H1N1) virus, human immunodeficiency virus and Hepatitis B virus. Currently, there is no data regarding whether the silver nanoparticles inhibit the adenovirus or not. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of silver nanoparti...

The enhanced immune response of hepatitis B virus DNA vaccine using SiO2@LDH nanoparticles as an adjuvant.
Abstract Various approaches have been used to improve systemic immune response to infectious disease or virus, and DNA vaccination has been demonstrated to be one of these effective ways to elicit protective immunity against pathogens. Our previous studies showed that layered double hydroxides (LDH) nanoparticles could be efficiently taken up by the MDDCs and had an adjuvant activity for DC maturation. To further enhance the immune adjuvant activity of LDH, core-shell structure SiO2@LDH nanoparticles were synthesized with an average diameter of about 210 nm. And its high transfection efficiency in vitro was demo...
