IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4883: Heterogeneous Electro-Fenton-Catalyzed Degradation of Rhodamine B by Nano-Calcined Pyrite
Xiaokai Wang The use of natural pyrite as a catalyst for the treatment of recalcitrant organic wastewater by an electro-Fenton system (pyrite-EF) has recently received extensive attention. To improve the catalytic activity of natural pyrite (Py), magnetic pyrite (MPy), and pyrrhotite (Pyr), they were obtained by heat treatment, and the nanoparticles were obtained by ball milling. They were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray electron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. The degradation performance of rhodamine B (Rhb) by heterogeneous catalysts was tested under the pyrite-EF system. The effects of o...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4866: Prevalence of Burnout among Teachers during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Meta-Analysis
bárbara Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many studies have found that there has been a lot of teacher overload. One of the additional burdens has been that they have had to teach online. In addition, when they returned to face-to-face classes, they had to follow all the hygiene rules so that the COVID-19 virus would not spread. It is therefore not surprising that, during this pandemic period, high levels of psychological symptoms have been reported among teachers. Among this symptomatology, burnout has been very frequent among teachers. Therefore, the aim of this study is to conduct a meta-analysis to determi...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4914: Orthodontic Curricula in Undergraduate Dental Education & mdash;A Scoping Review
Conclusion: Lack of consistency in undergraduate orthodontic education was evidenced by several Delphi studies aiming to develop a consensus on orthodontic teaching in undergraduate programs. A common message emanating from the available studies on undergraduate orthodontic education seems to emphasize a focus on assessment and diagnosis of the orthodontic treatment needs of patients and a basic understanding of contemporary treatment options to facilitate patient referral.

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4911: An Integrated System of Braden Scale and Random Forest Using Real-Time Diagnoses to Predict When Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (Bedsores) Occur
Conclusion: Identifying when the patient is likely to develop HAPI can target early intervention when it is needed most and reduces unnecessary burden on patients and care teams when patients are at lower risk, which further individualizes the plan of care.

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4807: Factors Associated with the Quality-of-Life of Young Unpaid Carers: A Systematic Review of the Evidence from 2003 to 2019
u The aim of this review was to identify factors influencing the quality of life (QoL) of young people providing care for family members with chronic illnesses, disabilities, and/or mental health and substance abuse problems (young unpaid carers; YC), as well as the social-care related QoL measures. Focused and broad search strategies were performed in four databases, identifying 3145 articles. Following screening, lateral searches, and quality appraisal, 54 studies were included for synthesis. An inductive approach was used to synthesise the findings, grouping factors associated with YC QoL into interrelated themes: &...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4833: Influence of Strength Training Variables on Neuromuscular and Morphological Adaptations in Prepubertal Children: A Systematic Review
ubia Strength training in prepubertal children is one of the topics that has aroused the most interest and controversy among training professionals in recent years. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to analyze the available scientific evidence on the influence of strength training variables on morphological and/or neuromuscular adaptations in healthy prepubertal populations with no previous experience in this type of training according to the descriptive sample characteristics. According to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis, 22 studies were selected after a systematic sear...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4829: Sleep Well, Study Well: A Systematic Review of Longitudinal Studies on the Interplay between Sleep and School Experience in Adolescence
cetti Adolescents spend most of their daily time in school and performing school-related activities. Different aspects of their school experiences, such as school performance, psychological factors related to school, and structural factors, consistently impact adolescents’ health and are likely to be intertwined with their sleep (i.e., quantity and quality, sleep disturbances). This systematic review aimed to comprehensively summarize the reciprocal and longitudinal associations between adolescents’ sleep and multiple aspects of their school experience. Using multiple search strategies and a...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4745: Preoperative HbA1c and Blood Glucose Measurements in Diabetes Mellitus before Oral Surgery and Implantology Treatments
Milind Padhye Laura Mente Michael Payer Peter Hermann Diabetes mellitus has become a worldwide epidemic and is frequently accompanied by a number of complications proportional to the duration of hyperglycemia. The aim of this narrative review is to assess the most up-to-date guidelines on DM provided by both diabetes and dental associations. Furthermore, to gather evidence on the uni/bidirectional relationships of elevated HbA1c levels on dental surgery, implantology, bone augmentation, and periodontology and to demonstrate the importance of measuring HbA1c levels before invasive dental treatments. HbA1c and bloo...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4746: Emotional Intelligence and School Bullying Victimization in Children and Youth Students: A Meta-Analysis
hen School victimization among children and youth is a global public health issue that has long-term adverse effects on the victims’ mental health and behavioral development. Theories and research suggest that emotional intelligence may operate as a buffer against school bullying victimization. However, the strength of the association between emotional intelligence and bullying victimization is controversial. Therefore, we aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the exact association between Emotional intelligence and school bullying victimization. We conducted a systematic search in PubMed, Web of S...

J. B. Dummer The aim of this review was to explore the acceptability, opportunities, and challenges associated with wearable activity-monitoring technology to increase physical activity (PA) behavior in cancer survivors. A search of Medline, Embase, CINAHL, and SportDiscus was conducted from 1 January 2011 through 3 October 2022. The search was limited to English language, and peer-reviewed original research. Studies were included if they reported the use of an activity monitor in adults (+18 years) with a history of cancer with the intent to motivate PA behavior. Our search identified 1832 published articles, of whic...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4624: Changes in Gut Microbiota and Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review
Conclusions: Gut microbiota dysbiosis was found in multiple sclerosis patients compared to controls. Most of the altered bacteria are short-chain fatty acid (SCFA)-producing, which could explain the chronic inflammation that characterises this disease. Therefore, future studies should consider the characterisation and manipulation of the multiple sclerosis-associated microbiome as a focus of both diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
