Hot weight loss drugs tested as addiction treatments
When the diabetes treatments known as GLP-1 analogs reached the market in 2005, doctors advised patients taking the drugs that they might lose a small amount of weight. Talk about an understatement. Obese people can drop more than 15% of their body weight, studies have found, and two of the medications are now approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for weight reduction. A surge in demand for the drugs as slimming treatments has led to shortages. “This class of drugs is exploding in popularity,” says clinical psychologist Joseph Schacht of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. But patient ...

Libby Clinic Files for Bankruptcy After Asbestos Claims Ruling
The Center for Asbestos Related Disease in Libby, Montana, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The decision comes after a jury ruled in June that CARD had submitted 337 false asbestos claims, forcing the clinic to pay nearly $6 million in penalties and damages.  BNSF Railway filed the lawsuit against CARD under the federal False Claims Act. The act allows private parties to file a lawsuit on the federal government’s behalf. The suit accuses the clinic of failing to get outside confirmation that hundreds of patients had an asbestos-related illness. The railroad company, owned by billionaire Warren B...

Laser Light Therapy Stimulates Regeneration
Elsie has been a patient at the Sears Institute for Anti-Aging for years. So when she called me in tears, I told her to come in right away… Elsie was leaving on her dream vacation to Africa in less than a week. But she could barely stand up. Her lower back pain was so severe she didn’t even think she could handle the 19-hour flight from Miami to Kenya. Let alone the six-hour drive from the capital city of Nairobi to the Maasai Mara Reserve, where she was going on a week-long safari. Elsie was desperate for relief but didn’t want to manage the pain with prescription or over-the-counter muscle relaxants or painkill...

Fast Heartburn Relief Without Deadly Drugs
Since gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) was first identified in the early 1930s, the number of people experiencing heartburn has increased substantially. In fact, one study shows that in just 10 years, the number of people experiencing:1 Any GERD symptoms increased by 30% Symptoms at least once a week increased by 47% Severe GERD increased by 24% While these numbers are concerning, I’ll admit they’re not surprising considering the typical American diet. Our nutrition-less, grain-based diet of carbohydrates and starches has wrecked our health and made our bodies behave in ways nature never intended. This has led ...

Parkinson ’ s Patients Get More Mobility And Better Balance With Whole Body Vibration Therapy
I’ve always believed that with a little coaxing, your body can self-heal – and the same is true for your brain. Conventional doctors will never tell you this. For them, being a physician means managing symptoms with Big Pharma meds. But for years, I’ve been helping patients recover using dietary changes, lasers, stem cells, and hyperbaric oxygen (HBOT). These therapies help your body heal itself. No Big Pharma drug can do this. But I recently began researching another natural therapy – called Whole Body Vibration, or WBV – that can help Parkinson’s patients regain their mobility and balance. WBV isn’t new. It...

Increase Magnesium To Fight Modern-Day Diseases
It troubles me deeply that conventional doctors don’t pay any attention to your magnesium levels… Especially these days when new research reveals that this miracle mineral can help you fight our modern-day infections.1,2 I’ve been advising my patients at the Sears Institute for Anti-Aging Medicine for decades about magnesium’s critical role in keeping them free of disease. You see, magnesium is needed for more than 600 biochemical reactions in your body – and that’s just for starters.3 There’s not enough room in this letter to give you a complete list of magnesium’s health benefits, but here are just a fe...

America Has Reached Peak Therapy. Why Is Our Mental Health Getting Worse?
The U.S. has reached peak therapy. Counseling has become fodder for hit books, podcasts, and movies. Professional athletes, celebrities, and politicians routinely go public with their mental health struggles. And everyone is talking—correctly or not—in the language of therapy, peppering conversations with references to gaslighting, toxic people, and boundaries. All this mainstream awareness is reflected in the data too: by the latest federal estimates, about one in eight U.S. adults now takes an antidepressant and one in five has recently received some kind of mental-health care, an increase of almost 15 mil...
