Local podiatrist pleads guilty to $1M in health care fraud
Roseville foot doctor Neil Van Dyck pleaded guilty Friday to more than $1 million in health care fraud. Between 2009 and 2014, Van Dyck submitted fraudulent claims worth over $2.8 million to Medicare, Medi-Cal, Tricare and private insurers, court documents show. Charged with 112 felonies, Rocklin cosmetic surgeon gets three months of house arrest
Dr. Efrain Gonzalez, a Rocklin doctor charged with 112 felonies related to his former cosmetic surgery practice, began serving his sentence last week: three months of house arrest. In a plea deal with the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, Gonzalez pled no contest May 7 to charges of conspiracy to perform medicine without a license and tax evasion. Almost 15,000 new local consumers enroll in Covered California
A total of 14,715 new consumers from the Sacramento area enrolled in Covered California and picked a plan from Nov. 15, 2014 — the start of the second annual open enrollment — through Feb. 2, new data from the state health benefit exchange show. Kaiser appoints new Roseville area executive
Jeff Collins, 58, is the new senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente in Roseville. A health-care executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience, he started the new job Feb. 1. He replaces Ed Glavis, who retired last year.
