Osteonecrosis of the jaw after radiation followed by bevacizumab
Osteonecrosis of the jaw is a recognized complication associated with bevacizumab. Here, we present a patient with squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil who experienced minimal skin fibrosis following intensity-modulated radiation therapy. Subsequently, the patient developed rectal adenocarcinoma and encountered osteonecrosis of the jaw after receiving two cycles of bevacizumab. Close monitoring, accompanied by thorough examination to detect early signs of osteonecrosis of the jaw, should be considered for patients who have undergone radiation therapy in the head and neck region and are receiving bevacizumab or other medic...

Deletion of concurrent chemotherapy on the basis of sequential chemoradiotherapy for non ‐metastatic stage T4 nasopharyngeal carcinoma in IMRT era
ConclusionThe survival outcomes of treating T4 NPC IMRT combined by induction chemotherapy deleting concurrent chemotherapy with or without adjuvant chemotherapy are encouraging. Moreover, mucosal reaction, nausea, and vomiting reaction were reduced during IMRT. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Anatomical changes and dosimetric analysis of the neck region based on FBCT for nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients during radiotherapy
CONCLUSION: Significant anatomic and dosimetric changes were observed in the target volumes and OARs. Based on the identified thresholds, replanning at approximately 20 fractions is crucial to ensure adequate target volumes dose and avoid overdosing to the OARs. This approach is clinically feasible and strongly recommended, particularly for centers without access to an adaptive planning system.PMID:38457140 | DOI:10.3233/XST-230280 (Source: Journal of X-Ray Science and Technology)

Predicting the error magnitude in patient-specific QA during radiotherapy based on ResNet
CONCLUSIONS: In this study, error magnitude prediction models with dose difference, gamma distribution, and RDD + EDD are established based on ResNet. The accurate prediction of the error magnitude under different error types can provide reference for error analysis in patient-specific QA.PMID:38457139 | DOI:10.3233/XST-230251 (Source: Journal of X-Ray Science and Technology)
