Randomized controlled trial on the effect of 1 ‐hour infusion of vincristine versus push injection on neuropathy in children with cancer (final analysis)
Conclusion1-hour infusion of vincristine is not protective against VIPN. However, in patients receiving concurrent azoles, 1-hour infusion may be less toxic. The difference in treatment outcome is most likely the result of differences in risk profile.

Individual coping strategies affect postoperative length of stay in pancreatic surgery
Background: Pancreatic surgery is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Therefore, it ’s highly relevant to improve the perioperative treatment and preparation prior surgery. Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocols improve and accelerate recovery after pancreaticoduodenectomy. Enabling patients for participation within the treatment is a key component. However, the ability to participate can be impaired by stress, lack of knowledge and anxiety. Individual coping strategies seem to be crucial in this situation.

Parapapillary choroidal microvascular density in acute primary angle-closure and primary open-angle glaucoma: an optical coherence tomography angiography study
Conclusions While superficial peripapillary vessels were affected to similar degrees in POAG and APAC, PPCMv drop-out was greater with POAG versus APAC, suggesting that choroidal vessel density may be affected to a lesser extent following an acute increase in intraocular pressure before glaucoma develops.

Network Analysis Reveals Unique Associations of Mindfulness and Distress with Immunity in M āori and Non-Māori New Zealanders
ConclusionsThese findings suggest that anxiety is strongly linked to poor immunity across both M āori and non-Māori in New Zealand while networks of mindfulness and distress also demonstrated differences unique for each of these groups. Both similarities and differences between Māori and non-Māori should be considered when developing targeted interventions to improve physical and mental hea lth in New Zealand.PreregistrationThis study is not preregistered.

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 6796: Changes in Food Consumption, BMI, and Body Composition in Youth in the US during the COVID-19 Pandemic
a Brady Jack Yanovski Rates of childhood overweight/obesity have risen for decades; however, data show the prevalence increased at a faster rate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Pandemic-associated increases in youth’s body mass index (BMI; kg/m2) have been attributed to decreases in reported physical activity; few studies have examined changes in food intake. We therefore examined changes in total energy, nutrient consumption, BMI, BMIz, and adiposity longitudinally over 3 years, comparing healthy youth aged 8–17 years assessed twice prior to the pandemic, to youth seen once before and once ...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4669: Trial Design for Cancer Immunotherapy: A Methodological Toolkit
Marc Buyse Immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors (CPIs) and cell-based products has revolutionized the treatment of various solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. These agents have shown unprecedented response rates and long-term benefits in various settings. These clinical advances have also pointed to the need for new or adapted approaches to trial design and assessment of efficacy and safety, both in the early and late phases of drug development. Some of the conventional statistical methods and endpoints used in other areas of oncology appear to be less appropriate in immuno-oncology. Conversely, other metho...

Characterization of gut microbiota profile in Iranian patients with bipolar disorder compared to healthy controls
ConclusionThis study marks the first examination of an Iranian population and provides compelling evidence of significant differences in gut microbiota composition between BPs and HCs, suggesting a potential link between brain functions and the gut microbial profile and population.

Genotype and sleep independently predict mental health in Rett syndrome: an observational study
Conclusion Findings indicated that genotype and sleep have implications for mental health in Rett syndrome, suggesting that anticipatory guidance and proactive management of poor sleep could improve mental health. More research is needed to understand the effects of psychometric medications, which cannot be inferred from this cross-sectional study.

Persistent symptoms and conditions among children and adolescents hospitalised with COVID-19 illness: a qualitative study
Conclusions A subset of children who were hospitalised with COVID-19 illness are experiencing a range of serious mental health impacts related to persistent COVID-19 symptoms. Clinical and public health support strategies should be developed to support these children and their families as they reintegrate in school, social and community activities.

Prevalence of psychological distress and associated factors among Omani women diagnosed with breast cancer: a single-centre, cross-sectional study
Conclusions More than half of the women surveyed had been diagnosed at an advanced stage, with up to 21.6% presenting with symptoms of anxiety and depression. Healthcare professionals in Oman should consider additional screening for anxiety and depressive symptoms in this group and encourage patients with BC to disclose emotional information during consultations, particularly for those aged ≥60 years.

The pharmacological mechanism of chaihu-jia-longgu-muli-tang for treating depression: integrated meta-analysis and network pharmacology analysis
Conclusion: Compared to SSRIs/SNRIs alone, CLM is more effective and safe in treating depression. It not only significantly alleviates depressive mood, but improves symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia, with fewer side effects, especially in combination with SSRI. Its antidepressant mechanism may be correlated with the regulation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and inhibiting inflammatory response.

Prognostic factors and predictive scores for 6-months mortality of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipients admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit
ConclusionAdmission of HSCT patients to PICU is still associated with poor outcome and 69% of patients died within 6 months. Need for respiratory support and dialysis are associated with poor outcome. Prediction of 6-months survival is difficult, especially during a first PICU admission. However, on subsequent PICU admissions pSOFA and O-PRISM scores might be useful to predict mortality. These scores should be prospectively evaluated in further studies to verify whether they can identify pediatric HSCT recipients profiting most from transferal to the PICU.

The role of mentalizing in the relationship between schizotypal personality traits and state signs of psychosis risk captured by cognitive and perceptive basic symptoms
ConclusionOur findings suggest that schizotypal traits and mentalizing significantly relate both independently and through their interactions to the presence of cognitive and perceptive BS included in CHR-P criteria. Furthermore, mentalizing dysfunction may contribute in the relation between schizotypal traits and early state signs of CHR-P. Mentalizing may support both detection and early treatment of CHR-P among adolescents and young adults who present with trait risk for psychosis.
