Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Colon and Rectum...
Scientists think that the presence of mucus allows cancer cells to spread faster. As a result, mucinous adenocarcinomas are considered more aggressive than regular adenocarcinomas and are harder to successfully treat. Mucinous adenocarcinomas account for about 10-15 percent of all adenocarcinomas.

Low-grade nasopharyngeal papillary adenocarcinoma: a case report and review of the literature
We report about a woman diagnosed with low-grade nasopharyngeal papillary adenocarcinoma. She received the treatment approach that combined transnasal endoscopic surgery to remove the lesion with postoperative radiotherapy for nasal cavity. There was no evidence of recurrence after 4 months of surgery, and further follow-up is being continued. Through this example, we wanted to explore the optimal therapeutic strategies for primary nasopharyngeal adenocarcinomas. Keywords: nasopharyngeal adenocarcinoma, immunohistochemistry, treatment policy, survival and prognosis

A case-case study on sinonasal cancer prevention: effect from dust reduction in woodworking and risk of mastic/solvents in shoemaking
Sinonasal cancers (SNCs) are rare neoplasms, accounting for about 3  % of head and neck cancers, with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (ADC) as the most common subtypes. ADCs present strong asso...

Anion exchange chromatography for the determination of 5-methyl-2'-deoxycytidine: application to cisplatin-sensitive and cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer cell lines.
Abstract Epigenetic alterations are increasingly implicated in the initiation and progression of cancer. Genome-wide (global) hypomethylation seems to occur in early neoplasia and is a feature of genomic DNA derived from solid tumour tissues like ovarian cancer. Thus, analytical methods that provide sensitive and quantitative information about cytosine methylation in DNA are currently required. In this work, we compare two different anion-exchange columns for the separation of methylated cytosine from the other DNA nucleotides: a silica-based (Tracer Extrasil SAX) column and a polystyrene/divinyl benzene-based (Mo...

Palatal Polymorphous Adenocarcinoma with High-Grade Transformation: A Case Report and Literature Review
AbstractPolymorphous adenocarcinoma (PAC) is the second most common intraoral malignant neoplasm of the minor salivary glands. However, it is very rare for PAC to show high-grade transformation (HGT) and to our knowledge, the English literature only seven reported cases. HGT tends to be observed when PAC recurs, and it is extremely rare to be seen at initial presentation. Here we report a 43-year-old Japanese male patient with PAC of the right palate showing HGT at initial presentation. Histopathologically, the tumor was characterized by a prominent solid and papillary-cystic growth pattern, with nuclear atypia and necrosi...

Anxiety and depression in patients with Barrett’s esophagus: estimates of disorder rates and associations with symptom load and treatment-seeking
Conclusion Study results indicate that a relevant proportion of patients with BE is at an increased risk for depression and anxiety, compared to general population controls. Lacking information on patients’ disease characteristics limited generalizability of results.

Pain-Related Gene Solute Carrier Family 24 Member 3 Is a Prognostic Biomarker and Correlated with Immune Infiltrates in Cervical Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Endocervical Adenocarcinoma: A Study via Integrated Bioinformatics Analyses and Experimental Verification
Comput Math Methods Med. 2023 Feb 7;2023:4164232. doi: 10.1155/2023/4164232. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to explore cervical carcinoma and screen a suitable gene as the biomarker used for prognosis evaluation as well as pain therapy. Low expression levels of solute carrier family 24 member 3 (SLC24A3) was involved in the appearance and development of numerous malignancies. Nevertheless, the prognostic value of SLC24A3 expression with cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC) patients remains uncertain. During the present study, SLC24A3 expression in CESC was retrieved fr...
