Barriers and enablers to implementing antenatal magnesium sulphate for fetal neuroprotection guidelines: a study using the theoretical domains framework
Conclusions: This study has provided valuable data on barriers and enablers to implementing magnesium sulphate for fetal neuroprotection, with implications for designing and modifying future behaviour change strategies, to ensure optimal uptake of this neuroprotective therapy for very preterm infants.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets processed by constrained groove pressing
Publication date: 4 February 2019Source: Materials Science and Engineering: A, Volume 745Author(s): Zongshen Wang, Yanjin Guan, Tao Wang, Qian Zhang, Xiuting Wei, Xiaoying Fang, Guangming Zhu, Shan GaoAbstractConstrained groove pressing (CGP) is of great potential for fabricating ultra-fine grained (UFG) sheet metals based on severe plastic deformation. However, researches on CGP of materials with poor formability and low ductility at room temperature (RT) are still very limited. Thus, in this work, an experimental setup with heating systems was developed for an improved processing efficiency by virtue of its new die desig...

Extreme prematurity and perinatal management
Key content Perinatal management of pregnant women delivering at the threshold of viability has medical and ethical considerations. It should be preceded by the best advice from a multidisciplinary neonatal and obstetric team to fully inform parents and achieve a consensus on the optimal care for the mother and  neonate. Obstetric interventions can affect maternal and neonatal outcomes after birth at the threshold of viability. These include administration of steroids, magnesium sulphate and tocolysis, fetal monitoring in labour and mode of delivery. Obstetric complications such as malpresentation are common and can ...

Associations of multiple plasma metals with the risk of metabolic syndrome: A cross-sectional study in the mid-aged and older population of China
CONCLUSIONS: Elevated levels of plasma magnesium and molybdenum were associated with decreased prevalence of MetS. Further investigations in larger perspective cohorts are needed to confirm our findings.PMID:35032729 | DOI:10.1016/j.ecoenv.2022.113183
