Knowledge of and adherence to radiographic guidelines for low back pain: a survey of chiropractors in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada
ConclusionsWhile many chiropractors in this sample reported being unsure of specific radiographic guidelines, the majority of respondents adhered to guideline recommendations measured using clinical vignettes. Nonetheless, a small proportion still hold beliefs about radiographs for LBP that are discordant with current radiographic guidelines. Future research should aim to determine barriers to guideline uptake in this population in order to design and evaluate tailored knowledge translation strategies to reduce unnecessary LBP imaging.

Mandibular and palatal tori exposed by trauma are risk factors for medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws: a report from the Copenhagen ONJ cohort
ConclusionsHere, we reported a series of 29 cases of MRONJ with related mandibular or palatal tori among 391 consecutive patients in the Copenhagen ONJ Cohort . We documented that 59% of these cases were associated with trauma, and that in some cases, trauma was preventable (e.g., trauma from impression taking and intubation). Dentists as well as anesthesiologists should be aware of the presence of tori in patients on antiresorptive therapy. Surgical treatment was more successful (100%) compared with nonsurgical treatment (40%).

‘The situation and the uncertainty about the coming result scared me but interaction with the radiographers helped me through’: a qualitative study on patients' experiences of magnetic resonance imaging examinations
ConclusionsOur study has provided a deeper understanding of the expectations before, and experiences during, a head‐first magnetic resonance imaging scan. Valuable insight into patients' apprehension about written and verbal information was obtained. The patients reported how they coped with the unfamiliar and stressful magnetic resonance imaging scanning procedure. A trustful dialogue with the radiographer was described as being crucial for patients' ability to manage fear, discomfort and feelings of loss of self‐control. We suggest a need for individualised information based on patient participation. Relevance to cli...

Abstract IA41: Emerging Issues in Cancer Screening for Racial and Ethnic Minorities
Cancer screening plays an important role in early detection; detecting cancer in an early stage has important implications for cancer health disparities. Considerable efforts have been made to increase access to early detection services among racial and ethnic minorities in order to improve cancer outcomes in these populations. However, our recent work has shown that racial disparities in cancer screening continue to exist. For instance, about 40% of women in our national random survey of cultural considerations in cancer screening were not up-to-date with mammography guidelines. Our other work with a community-based sampl...

Simultaneous Development of Dieterich Disease and Freiberg Disease
We report a 65-year-old man consulting for inflammatory pain in his right hand of 1 month's duration and also in his right foot of 4 months' duration. The rheumatology department was consulted to rule out systemic disease because the synovitis had occurred simultaneously in 2 different locations. The plain radiography and magnetic resonance imaging findings supported the diagnosis of Dieterich disease and Freiberg disease, although only increased uptake was found on scintigraphy in the affected zones. Few studies have been published about Dieterich disease, most in case report form. To our knowledge, only 1 study has descr...

The imaging characteristics of odontogenic myxoma and a comparison of three different imaging modalities
Conclusions: All 3 radiographic techniques, conventional radiography, CT, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have inherent advantages and disadvantages; however, all 3 should be routinely used in the diagnosis of OM. The results of CT and MRI can accurately reveal margins of tumors and greatly aid in diagnosis.
