Reasons why Thai patients with chronic kidney disease use or do not use herbal and dietary supplements
Conclusions: Patients who perceived benefits from HDS use were more likely to use HDS, whilst non-users had negative attitudes towards HDS. Health professionals therefore should educate patients and their relatives about the risks and benefits from using HDS.

IJERPH, Vol. 18, Pages 10494: Motivation, Barriers, and Suggestions for Intradialytic Exercise —A Qualitative Study among Patients and Nurses
Conclusion: The analysis of patients’ and nurses’ experiences and attitudes generated recommendations for an intradialytic exercise program. Recommendations include individually tailored programs that are safe and that patients can do independently, continuous collaboration between patients, nurses, physicians, and physiotherapists, and educating nurses about the benefits and safety of intradialytic exercise.

Hard choices, better outcomes: a review of shared decision-making and patient decision aids around dialysis initiation and conservative kidney management
Purpose of review: Patients reaching end-stage kidney disease face difficult decisions, including choosing among renal replacement therapies (RRTs). With an increasingly elderly and frail population, there is growing interest in conservative kidney management (CKM) as a viable alternative to dialysis. Shared decision-making (SDM) is a patient-centered approach to these decisions, in which choices are viewed within the explicitly discussed values and preferences of the patient. Patient decision aids (PDAs) are tools designed to facilitate these discussions. The choice between dialysis and CKM is particularly complex, given ...

Preparation, stabilization and CHARACTERIZATION of 3-(Methacryloyloxy) propyl trimethoxy silane modified colloidal nanosilica particles
In this study, homogeneous distribution of colloidal silica nanoparticles (CSPs) was performed by modifying and stabilizing CSPs in an organic solvent at neutral pH. The surface modified CSPs were synthesized by Stöber method in methanol, followed by modifying with different contents of 3-(methacryloyloxy) propyl trimethoxysilane (MPTS). Solvent exchange and dialysis process were applied to purify the modified CSPs for being stable in dioxane solvent at pH 7 ± 0.1. Both original and modified CSPs exhibited narrow particle size distribution in the range of 10-100 nm, while dynamic diameters (Z-averaged) of the CSPs were n...
