ACS Releases Long-term Care Guideline for Survivors of Head and Neck Cancer
By Stacy Simon The American Cancer Society has released a new Head and Neck Survivorship Care Guideline to help survivors of head and neck cancer and their primary care providers better manage their long-term care. The guideline addresses cancers of the oral cavity, tongue, lip, pharynx (throat), and larynx (voice box). Recommendations in the guideline may also apply to cancers of the salivary glands, nasal and paranasal sinuses, and nasopharynx. Expectations About the Effectiveness of Radiation Therapy Among Patients With Incurable Lung Cancer Palliative and Supportive Care
Conclusion Although patients receiving RT for incurable lung cancer believe it will help them, most do not understand that it is not at all likely to cure their disease. This indicates a need to improve communication regarding the goals and limitations of palliative RT.

Religiosity and Beliefs About the Transmission of Cancer, Chemotherapy, and Radiation Through Physical Contact in Saudi Arabia
We examined relationships between religiosity and Saudi cancer patients ’ beliefs about the spread of cancer, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy through close physical contact. Surveyed were 64 patients seen in university oncology clinics. Assessed were beliefs about the spread of cancer and its treatments, along with religious, demographic, social, psychological, an d cancer-related characteristics. Physicians' Beliefs About the Benefits and Risks of Adjuvant Therapies for Stage II and Stage III Colorectal Cancer Original Contributions
Conclusions: Physicians largely agreed that the benefits of adjuvant chemotherapy for stage III colon cancer, as well as chemotherapy, and radiation for stage III rectal cancer, outweigh the risks, consistent with strong evidence, but were divided over the net benefit of adjuvant therapies for stage II colorectal cancer, where evidence is inconsistent.
