Gastric Metastasis from Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer, Resembling Primary Gastric Cancer
This report presents a case of breast ILC for which the initial presentation was gastric metastasis. A 62-y-old woman presented with gastric outlet obstruction secondary to a gastric mass that had been diagnosed on upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and biopsy. The patient had been referred for 18F-FDG PET/CT for staging. The baseline 18F-FDG PET/CT scan demonstrated extensive axillary nodal and gastric metastases with a breast mass, which raised suspicion of a primary breast carcinoma. Distinguishing primary gastric adenocarcinoma from metastatic breast ILC is essential, considering that the 2 diagnoses lead to divergent tr...

Drug-Induced Sleep Endoscopy in Children
Drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) has become an essential diagnostic tool in children with persistent obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) after adenotonsillectomy or those at high risk of persistent OSA. Utilizing either propofol or dexmedetomidine intravenous sedation to model sleep in the operating room, a flexible laryngoscope is used to look for obstruction at each level of the airway. Several pediatric-specific DISE scoring systems have been published in an effort to provide a thorough and reproducible airway assessment.

Learning curve of laparoscopic cholecystectomy: a risk-adjusted cumulative summation (RA-CUSUM) analysis of six general surgery residents
ConclusionsThe present study suggested that at most 25 procedures might be sufficient to acquire technical competency in LapC. The variability in the number of procedures needed to complete the LC, ranging between 7 and 25, could be due to the heterogeneous scenarios in which LapC was performed, and deserves to be investigated through a prospective study involving a larger number of GSRs and institutions.Graphical abstract

Assisted documentation as a new focus for artificial intelligence in endoscopy: the precedent of reliable withdrawal time and image reporting
Conclusion Our AI system calculates withdrawal time, provides an image report, and is real-time ready. After further validation, the system may improve standardized reporting, while decreasing the workload created by routine documentation. Review of paediatric obesity and non ‐alcoholic fatty liver disease—A focus on emerging non‐pharmacologic treatment strategies
SummaryObesity in paediatrics has become one of the most serious public health concerns worldwide. Paediatric obesity leads to increased adult obesity and is associated with several comorbidities, both physical and psychological. Within gastroenterology, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is now the most common cause of paediatric liver disease and the most common cause of liver transplantation in young adults. Treatment for NAFLD largely focuses on treatment of obesity with weight loss strategies. Unfortunately, the traditional method of weight loss using multicomponent lifestyle modification (dietary changes, incr...

Can Classifications Adequately Represent Genital Malformations?: EVA Study ( E SHRE/ESGE | V CUAM | A FS) - A Prospective Multicenter Study to Evaluate the Current Female Genital Malformation Classifications
Conclusion The prospective multicenter EVA ( E SHRE/ESGE | V CUAM | A FS) study revealed that the organ-based ESHRE/ESGE and VCUAM classifications of female genital malformations perform better in terms of reproducibility as well as in the assessment of individual compartments than the non-organ-based AFS classification.PMID:37564897 | PMC:PMC10410643 | DOI:10.1055/a-2043-9982
