What ’ s Driving the Demand for ADHD Drugs Like Adderall
For at least the last six months, Adderall—the stimulant medication commonly used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)—has been in short supply in the U.S. That seems to be in part because demand is growing as more people are diagnosed with ADHD, a condition that can make it difficult to focus, remember details, control impulses, or sit still. About 8% more people in the U.S. filled a stimulant prescription in 2021 versus 2020, according to federal data. Other studies suggest ADHD diagnoses are increasing across age groups.

For Some Women With ADHD, TikTok Is the First Place They Felt Heard
Emilie Leyes, 27, works with actors in New York to build mental resilience and manage work stress. When she started scrolling through TikToks about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), it was because she wanted to learn more about people with ADHD—so that she could better help clients who had the condition.
Leyes quickly discovered, though, that she identified strongly with the people in these videos.
“I truly had no idea I had ADHD until I joined TikTok,” she says.

1 in 3 students with ADHD receive no school interventions, study finds
(Lehigh University) One in three students with ADHD received no school-based interventions and two of three received no classroom management, researchers found in the largest study of children and teens with ADHD ever conducted. At least one in five students with ADHD who experience significant academic and social impairment - those most in need of services - received no school intervention. The gap was particularly evident for adolescents and youth from non-English-speaking and/or lower income families.

Teens With Autism Educate Future Doctors At Boston University
BOSTON (CBS) – It’s a unique medical school class designed to increase awareness of patients with autism and other intellectual disabilities. And today’s teachers were two teenagers, both on the autism spectrum.
“I’m 13 years old. I’m in eighth grade. I really, really like otters, and I have ADHD and a tiny bit of autism,” says Hana.
