Autism-related genes linked to cognitive ability
Conclusion This study has found some small associations between common genetic variations linked to ASD and cognitive performance in the general population. Even where an association was found between genetic risk score and cognitive performance, the effect was very small. Five 'mental disorders' may have genetic links
Conclusion This study suggests that autism, ADHD, clinical depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia may have common genetic risk factors. The five conditions examined in this study were selected on the basis of the availability of a large genetic data set.
